Hey so everybody I ask says I’m nuts and my engine is clean,,,but it’s not ,,,what are some good products or tricks or techniques that I can just get some of the grime off ? Thxx guys and gals.

There is a product that I have been using for years called S 100.
This is for light soil not filthy caked crap.
Sold at motorcycle shops. It doesn't harm any surfaces, paint, rubber or metal.
I bought mine at a Harley dealer. Spray on wait a few minutes hose off.
Makes it shine !

Super clean is pretty aggressive, try something more tame. It will bleach out rattle can paints also. It works good though, but when you want to redo all the finishes and paint.

I like the idea of a motorcycle Product, they have so much aluminum it would need to be on the mild side..

I've had great luck with Simple Green full strength . Spray wait a few minutes and rinse. Or scrub the bad areas then rinse .

power washer and clinging Gunk. If you wanna bring the thunder...EZ-Off.

Pretty much..a pressure washer.
Brake cleaner works too.

The paint is faded easy with most everything you use and heat fades it too.

Consider this... once it's this dirty, the paint is the least of your concern. Oil leaks might be the focus or coolant overflow..etc..

Thxx guys. I’m gettin on it. ,,,,,u guys r literally sayin to spray water on the engine ,,,I hav never done this lol.

Seal the distributor and the intake tract and they can almost run underwater. The newer cars with all the electrical plugs on the motor are not supposed to be high pressure washed as the weatherpack connectors are not designed for high pressure exposure, only normal splash type exposure.

You haven't done this before. I would never use a pressure washer or easy off . I would be careful. Stay away from dizzy, carb, alt. Easy off on the cowl area by mistake may take your paint off.

Seriously, grab a cold drink, a bunch of clean towels and some Simple Green. ....just start tinkering and wiping. ...just take your time and don't work hard.
It can actually be enjoyable if you just go slow and start to get into it.

EZ off should be used on heavy grease build up, ie, your block to trans area and behind your leaking oil pan. not your cowl! you just spray it on, let it sit and rinse it off. If it gets on your painted surface as overspray, just wipe it off. It needs to sit to work and its not going to sit anywhere you dont want it to. Just be careful where you spray it and wipe off the overspray. Rinsing it off may get it where its not needed but its under a rinse so its not going to stay on anything long enough to do anything.

Hot water and Dawn. And a brush.
