I have searched the thread and can not find what I need.

I have a 2 speed wiper motor and switch. The problem I am having is my schematics show one wiring pin-out, The service manual schematics have a completely different pin-out. And neither of them match the switch.

Below I have drawings that show the switch as it is labeled.

Can someone please tell me which lugs on the switch, connect to which of the firewall connectors?

I do hope I am making sense

Thanks in advance

Ed

In 67 looks like the bulkhead uses
A B C D, so I'm guessing it is not 67.

Sorry, it is a 1971 Plymouth Duster.

A B C D are used for something else . If not where do they connect to the wiper motor
I tried a few times and it would barley move. I pulled the wire from H and it runs beautifully. But will not stop or park

Can you give us all the numbers stamped on the metal part of the switch.

Can you give us all the numbers stamped on the metal part of the switch.

In the pictures I posted, I labeled both of them with the letters that are stamped on the switch itself.
I have a few schematics and none of the schematics use the lettering that is stamped on the switch.
And none of the schematics have the lugs on the switch in the same position as the switch itself

This is why it is driving me nuts ( well one of the many reasons I am nuts)

Part numbers? Got a parts manual? They're free at mymopar.com

i HAVE THE SERVICE, PARTS, BODY AND CHASSIS MANUALS. that does not help with my wiring problem. I have a few schematics that all contradict each other. The manuals only further confuse things

But thanks for the effort

If you truly want help then post the numbers!! Sorry but it's been requested at least once. Electrical is a goddamned pain in the *** as I know all too well, so when someone asks for numbers and is willing to help, guess what, I would post them. I have a variable spd wiper switch that has numbers on them that make no sense, BUT because I posted them someone was able to help out.
Sorry, rant over.:)

I think what's being asked is what is the part number of the switch and the wiper motor to be sure they are compatible.

Is it possible that P1 and P2 are actually F1 and F2? I was looking at my wiring diagram and the switch is labeled with "B", "P", "A", "F1" and "F2" next to the wires. Maybe your H is actually a "P"? Don't know.

Might go back and look at your diagram and see if those labels are there.

Not sure why the diagrams you have would disagree other than the color of the wires. If that's the case, I would stick to the diagram that matches the harness and ignore the others.

I can't make heads or tails of the diagram so only guessing at which wire does what. "A" appears to go to the resistor, and "P" is maybe for "Park"? So maybe "F1" is for slow and "F2" is for fast? Just WAG's.

Thanks anyways
I think I figured out the wiring, but

the problem is in the switch, I need a new switch

You can disassemble the switch, just carefully pry up the tabs and watch for things to pop out.

No this one is definitely broken beyond repair, missing internal parts. I searched thru my asst parts and found a couple of 3746 815 2 speed switches but I think they are for like 74 and above, mine is a 1971 Duster.

I am going to start searching for another 2864 415,

That's the problem

I have been playing with the improper switches that I have. Until I find the correct switch, I can use one of other switches. The only problem is they will not have a PARK.

Then again, The wipers are just for show, as I never drive the car in the rain

Any chance you could pirate parts from one switch to repair the correct one?

My plans are to resell the two incorrect switches, and try to purchase a correct one. At this point, I installed an incorrect switch into the dash.
As I said, it will operate the wiper motor for me, although it will not park the wipers. I will have to do that manually..
This is Arizona, and rain storms are very few and far between. I will not drive that car in the rain, unless I am caught by it and then i will use the wipers sparingly

I took apart the two switches and included parts from both and remade the correct switch 2864 415
I put it into the car yesterday and it works perfectly, BUT it still will not park the wipers. So I will have to switch them off in the correct position

No park COULD be a wiper motor issue. There are contacts in there for that to happen.

No the motor is just fine, it is definitely the switch, but I am grateful it is working as good as it does. But I will test the motor again, anyways

Hi guys, not sure if this thread is still active. I have a similar issue. Similar issue for me, switch is the #3 above (minus the 'W' blade). wipers were working; 4 year restoration on an unrestored 38k mile car w/ the orig dash wiring harness, verified un molested plug, assuming switch and wiring are original. New wiper wiring harness but I Verified same colors/plug connection locations. Now it's not working. Maybe storage for 4 years was the last straw for switch or motor so I wanted to test both. I'm not a electrician but have engineering background. <<My questions if anyone can help>> Switch: 5 wires, Hot input = pink, out = Red, Dk Blue, DkGreen, Brown. Is it: protected Pink in, switched hot red out to motor, Dk Green or Dk Blue grounds for variable speed? When switch is on, it looks like Brown becomes hot, all other grounds in car are brown so I'm confused why it would have a brown coming out hot unless switch is shorted. How can I check motor by bypassing switch, I don't want to fry anything? Can I jump: Red hot in. - ground to /DkBlue/ or /DBkGreen/ or /Brown/ at motor. Where does the resistor come into play? My apologies if I'm not speaking in electrical terms. Baby steps on this one. All other electrical items I have encountered on this Resto were Ground related but this one has me stumped. /// What I have: 72 Dodge Demon (Sept 71 build date) Wiper switch is 2 speed (off+low+hi), number 3488 781 23199. This car has a few wrong year items (71 seats switched at Rag top vendor, and 71 fender extensions, etc.) My guess it was the last year of the Demon and they wanted to get rid of excess inventory. 'MyMopar' wiring schematics for 71'sto 74 + shop manual wiring schematics + Third party wiring schematics; all have different switches, none are the one I have installed, but switch matches the factory plug. Any help with how to test switch and motor would be greatly appreciated.

We were discussing this off line and here's what we found.
In the '72 FSM and there's some explanation and guidance for a two speed system troubleshooting starting around page 8-107.

From the diagrams in the back of thee chapter
upload_2022-6-7_18-47-12-png.1715938934

Terminal B is "Battery" and is fed from a splice in the Accessory circuit (wire Q2)

Looking at figure 5 in the chapter
Terminal A gets power directly from the B when the switch is in Low. Wire V3 goes to resistor and then V3A to the motor.
Terminal F1 gets power directly from the B when the switch is in High. Wire V4 goes to the motor.
Terminals P and F2 provide power when the switch is turned off, but only until the wiper reaches the down position when contact is broken.

I took apart 3 switches, 2 speed and 3 speed switches and built one from them. Works with only one hitch. It will not park. But that is ok as I can never remember using the wipers since I have had the car

It is enough in case I get pulled over for a safety inspection
