Tranny fluid smells

Dexron is what it was made for. Type F is supposed to give you firmer shifts (Same as B&M fluid) as the friction modifier are different, more grab but stay with the Dexron. Type F is ancient tech and has the lowest temperature rating, sheer rating... (IIRC its the lowest of everything across the board). Dex has better chemistry, Dex2 was the original fill. Mopar's ATF+3 is backwards compatible and the newer ATF+4 is all synthetic and is more expensive. If you have a lock up convertor, it will work best with what is called out in the service manual. I think Type F is not good for a lock up convertor.
