Just made a deal on a 1973 Plymouth Scamp. Has been parked in a storage unit since 2004. Started last about 10 years ago. Has a mild built 318 with under 12,000 miles on it before the previous owner parked it. Auto trans with 2500 full lock up stall converter and a 3.55 suregrip in the 8.25 rear end. Hoping to get it home this week or next and start resurrecting it.

Awesome find. Also looks like they did a lot of nice mods to it. I'd ditch that BS air cleaner first thing though.

Thank you, it does have a bunch of nice mods. Suspension upgrades front and rear also, sway bars, that kings stuff. And yes, that air cleaner is going away first thing.

Thank you. I was going to mention that.

Score! Score! Score! Good for you! I love my Scamp. They are an odd duck for sure. Most people don't even know what it was or is?. Great little car. Have fun with it.

Thank you! What year is yours? I like the Scamps. They have the 70-72 Dart rear bumper (my favorite one), but in my opinion, a nicer front end than the 73 or 74 Dart Swinger. Kinda a neat mash up of parts from Dodge and Plymouth.

care to share a ballpark figure?

and times 4 on the fire starter air cleaner

Nice score, congrats !!!!
Picked up this clean low mile 73 Scamp a couple months ago.
/6, AC, 8.25" Sure Grip, Power Disc Brakes :)

I picked up a 71 Scamp with 71,000 original miles, 318, auto, with factory ac, car runs good and drives I inherited a 360 and 4 speed from my mopar family for conversion, I also inherited complete dart front end with 340 hood, want to do hydraulic clutch conversion ? what do you think 318 running gear is worth ? also scamp front end $$ ????

Bumpers are not the same for the Darts 70'-72'. They will mount, but the tail lights are not the same, that are inputted into the bumpers, differently. They are real bumpers though.

Ahh thats interesting. They do look similar. Thank you for the clarification. I guess what I should have said is I like the single tail light style in the bumper better than the double tail lights in the bumper like my 73. Both are cool, but the single light just looks cleaner in my opinion. But I do appreciate the correction. Always learning and gaining new knowledge about these cars.

Same as for the front fenders on the 67' - 69' Darts. Repos state they are the same, but in reality, they are all three different. They will fit, but each year has a different side marker.(67',none...68',round...69', rectangle). Note: I also learn something new each day on this informational site. Thanks!!!!

The Scamp is home! Finally had a weekend that lined up with the previous owner that I could go snag it. I washed it, cleaned up the interior and vacuumed all the crap out of it. I’m now on two weeks of vacation and hope to get it running in the next couple weeks.

Hey ..that was the thing back in 1987 , I also lik e the "tiny " round ones that look like they belong on a mini bike LOL! anyway OP nice score, that thing will clean up easy. Change the fluids, you don't know what water is in there (condensation) rust on the floor is windshield or manual master cylinder or combination of both.
