Well that's kinda cool. ....as all hell.

That’s pretty neat. Didn’t read through the whole website. Is there any dates or timeframes of it being put into service?

Good luck on that. You still cannot go supersonic commercially over USA unless you got some serious business. ie catching a hijacked plane. Wonder what the maintenance cost per hour on that jet is. IIRC the Concord was about $15K in todays money for a flight from Paris to NY.

I think this kinda thing is pretty cool and very interesting but useless. The concorde type aircraft were never that profitable, and basically toys for the rich snobs. The other thing is, since the history of the blackbird has been made---WITH SLIDE RULES--it is gonna take some doing to outdo that bird

I'm not trying to denegrate this work, it's very high tech, obviously.

NASA has a 'quiet' sonic boom aircraft that they are testing. Instead of a rolling window pane shaking boom (it travels along over ground just like the plane, not a one time thing) it's boom is the loudness of a car door closing. That would make supersonic travel over USA possible.

Supersonic does not have a very good record in the US. It should definitely be better in modern times. Remember the SR-71 was built in the 60's and we lost almost 1/3 built. Traveling at that speed is exciting but I believe it will be many years before it is commercially viable. Just wait rockets will be out soon!!!

This Jet is suppose to be quieter and more fuel efficient but fuel has more than trippled since the old days.i guess with space travel for millionaires they are trying to get some of the market !
