Hello.
I just acquired a 64 Barracuda.
The backs of the bucket seats lean too far back;
it is worse with the driver's, to the point it looks collapsed.
How can I remedy to this; help anyone ?

judging from the pictures . . . . .

There's no easy fix, if it's in the seat frames. If it's a frame problem the seats have to come out & be disassembled. The welded pin that forms the latch can be bent, the frames can rust badly if repeatedly soaked through the foam. They usually can be fixed though, just clip the hog rings carefully after separating the seat halves. The metal can be straightened w a hammer & dolly, and a straight piece of 16 ga metal can be pad welded over it if there's a crease or crack.

Hello Demonic,Thank you writing.
This collapsed situation,
would it be similar to state that the ''stopper'' has sheared off.
Hence the back is moving back too far because there only remains ''a stub to hold it.''
That the remaining stub will need to be sawed off.
And a new stopper be welded in its place ?

The lower seat track has slotted holes in it and you can adjust how far back the seat inclines. The upper part of track has bolts in it and there is an oval hole that you can adjust and you'll be able to tilt the seat forward. I'll try to find pics for you.

It was discussed on another thread on the early A body section.

Here is a pic of the seat reclined adjustment. Not sure where I got the pic from but probably another FABO member.

Are you sure it's the seats? The floor on my 66 had large cracks around the rear seat studs. It made the seat lean back really bad.
Too much powershiftin' my 66 Dart has the same floor cracks. LOL
