Been a long time but now im working on my 1965 Barracuda. Last time i test drove it i noticed an up and down wobble on the left rear tire and or wheel . I figured it was the axle. So i went to remove the rear wheel and couldn't. The nuts were frozen . So i bought a $300 lug ripper from the site and it did good for about three nuts then dulled out. The nuts were spinning with the studs too. So then i just heated the nuts with a torch and beat the nuts off with sledge. They were 13 inch factory wheels but they were in such bad shape, they rusted and leaked air around the edges. They have to be trashed there is no restoration hope for them . So i just cant find wheels i really like so i took one of the front wheels off one of my 69 chargers and stuck it up to the drum just to see what it would look like. I think it looks good but the bolt circle is too big and the center is also . But i love these Vector American Racing wheels so much i think they look so good, better then any other wheel. If only i could fit them to the car and get them to work. I didnt put the center cap on the wheel because this was just a test and i didnt wash the wheel but it is new just dusty .The Vector wheel is 15X7. As of now there are drums in the rear but if i have to go disk conversion i guess ill have to. Any tips and or ideas would be a big help . New axles are on the options table as well. Im thinking about buying a disk brake conversion kit from The Right Stuff, their MDC46DC kit. Says it will allow 15 inch wheels . MDC46DC

8.25 rears had the BBP axles, much cheaper than the 8 3/4. A Ford 8 or 9 will work, some even bolt in. Lefties were on the driver (L side as viewed from the rear).

Bo and Luke would be proud of your wheel choice!!

Talk to Dr Diff about swapping to BBP.

Just know that the swap to BBP will widen your track and sometimes require a more positive offset (larger back space) wheel. Not sure if the Vector ever came in a positive offset.

yea left to loose still spinning, didnt matter wheels were trash anyway one way or another that wheel was coming off that car.. Woaaaaaa woaaa wait a minute!!! Are you saying left to tight on some models???? No i never heard that? Because one of my chargers has the same problem the studs and nuts are spinning and im about to bang those off too and change those ugly wheels out too.
Yup, left hand threads on the driver's side. Normal right hand threads on the passenger side.
There's usually an "L" stamped in the end of the stud.

Aww mannn thanks i just looked at one that i broke off on the left rear and theres an L on it and then i looked at the right rear and theres an R on those.Aww man what a shame i rushed i should have checked here first. The other charger is fine someone must have changed those out before i got it but my first charger has L all over the place i could never get those rims off. Ill try latter today thanks .

Um, you did remember about the left hand threads...?
You sir are an Oak..... Thank you. I took all the wheels off the charger today and the rear drivers left was the only one with the Left to tighten / Right to loosen on it. The L's had faded away but boy it sure worked. Ill get on the cuda again latter tomorrow when i get off work. As soon as i got home today i i went straight to the charger!!!! I put the wheel that came with charger number 2 on charger number 1 since 2 got the new vectors.

Its been a while and i have been meaning to get back to you, I owe you dinner. After that last messege i went straight to my charger and finally took those wheels off and put my ralye wheels on it and sold the car thanks to you. . Even though now i regret selling it lol . Now im back to working on the Barracuda. Since i broke a few studs off the rear passenger side , i bought new studs and am going to replace them . I bought a slide hammer from harbour freight and pulled the axle out only enough to be able to put the new studs in. Then i plan to use lugs to sink them in.
