Lately I can see why the USPS is losing money. I bought 3 toggle switches from a place not far from me in Clawson Michigan The USPS shipped that package to Columbus Ohio then back up to Utica Michigan then to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania then Allen Park Michigan then to my Post Office then Erie Michigan and I am waiting to see where they go next. It has been just over a week now and I am thinking I should have just drove the 50 miles to pick them up.

Only the ones that work.

I don't know about other USPS offices, but the one here in Fairborn/ Ohio is quite good. The stuff is capable, friendly and never lost any of my packages. I think a proper packing, a correct and legible address helps a lot too. I had some guys here on FABO who didn't even provide their correct addresses. That's a shame when you drive to the USPS office and they tell you that the address is incorrect or doesn't match their system.

And just yesterday, I read a story saying not only is The Postmaster General raising the price of a 1st class stamp to 58 from 55 cents, but ha also had the nerve to say "along with longer delivery times". So we're gettin less for more money.

My wife WORKS for the post office, and I still could not get credit for an AR10 barrel nut that got ground up in their machinery.

Seems the machinery destroyed the original package so they put it in a new package but now can't show it as delivered. No delivery, no damage claim.

I started for the USPS in 1991, walked away in 2008. I don't know if the USPS ever made $$ in that period...or since...

I will take them over Fed Ex, who failed to get the last three packages to me. Their excuse, they are having trouble getting small packages to customers but seem to be okay with bigger packages. Two lost and one delivered to the wrong address. Shipping cost refunded, ZERO.

FINALLY, someone mentions this idiot in a PO bashing post. Not only is he raising prices and slowing down delivery, he is trying to cut window hours, delivery hours, etc. I'm guessing no one saw him getting grilled last year during the "scandal" about the removal of the sorting machines?
He was asked if he knew the price of a postcard stamp. He did not.......

I’m just a country boy with a local USPS Post Office here. Zero complaints. Only thing I will say is do away with Saturday delivery’s to save a few bucks. I personally could live with three day (Monday-Wednesday-Friday) deliveries.

Not sure on the three day a week delivery but for sure end Saturday mail. And maybe Friday. I know four days of mail a week is good enough.

I'm tired of getting my neighbors mail in my box.
USPS is just another defunct government entity, just like everything the past 30 years, a hunk of crap.
We have incompetent people in our work force.

I think that they quit delivering mail on Thursday on my route already. I figured it out that Thursday is the mailman's last day of work for the week for him. Lotta times never see that guy on Thursday. But on Friday we have a different mailman and he or she always gets screwed by this other guy. Because, we get lots of mail on Friday. Not bashing postal workers, just this guy.

I gave up telling people to make sure they pack their **** correctly. Hell, nobody reads my comments anyway. Not much of a trick to not having your package not get wrecked....leave 0 open air space in the box. Open air is a crush. Do not hand write the label, type it up as damn near everything is read by an OCR. Those things called envelopes...the only thing that goes in there is paper. No keys, no coins etc. The AFCS has a lot of pinch points. You put 10 pictures in an envelope...there is a very good chance it will not make it thru the shing/sing area. And tape the damn flaps down. The AFCS has these little black gates in them...they make great letter openers of the ends of the flaps are loose. Very little of the mail is handled by humans anymore. Those days are long gone.

I send 95% of my parts thru the mail. Starts here with Canada Post and then on to USPS. Parts have always made it to their destination. Last March and April and Christmas time was pretty slow getting to their destination. But they made it. Kim

When I see tracking info showing packages going all over kingdom come, I have to ask myself: Is it really moving around like that or is it a glitch in the system coding?

You're preaching to a brick wall.
They have zero clue as to how they PO actually works. They don't understand that mail isn't sorted at a post office, and they are unaware that a plant is an actual thing.
I gave up trying to explain a long time ago.

Someone else who gets it. LOL. You must be an employee as well? I see amazingly dumb stuff everyday.
My favorite is someone shipping something fragile in a paper envelope.
The other day a lady got snippy with me while I was working the window. I sat her parcel on the scale in a way she didnt like.
She told me she wrote "this side up" on it so it had to ship that way. Oh boy......

This is one of those also priority mail and still not there!

A Yellowbullet member offered a free sample of a hand cleaner he was offering for sale. It was a powdery substance that you mixed with water and cleaned your hands with. He mailed out probably 1000’s of these. Trouble is it was in a 1.5-2 inch resealable plastic bag and he mailed them out in regular letter envelopes. Lol. The plastic bags all smashed open and it looked like an envelope filled with cocaine or anthrax or something. What a mess. Stupidly at its finest.

Apparently headed my way lol!
