I’m rebuilding a front end on a 1968 valiant as of now trying to keep all stock. What’s your guys opinion on rock auto moog products good product or choose the alternative, firm feel. I know firm feel you should get superior product line but I don’t want to use cheep Chinese products also.

The answer is….it depends. If it’s made in USA, it may be ok. But, MOOG, like many other companies makes a lot of stuff in China or other parts of the world and quality is very sub par!! I’ve heard good things about Proforged.

Moog is nowhere near what it used to be. 4 new ball joints in a chevy 1/2 ton. Well maintained and a year later 3/4 failed safety inspection. Warranty, sure but a real pain to have to do it all over again.

The sad part is the “Moog’s and Frams of the world” are all cutting corners that they never did before to keep up profits for shareholders. I agree with above on some stuff is good but most is par or sub par.

I honestly like EBay as you can ask the seller for a picture of the box before you buy to know where the part came from. Remember if Made in USA is good but it is also possibly 10 years old before it even goes in. Hard parts like pitman arms no issues but rubber parts are already ozone decayed.keep us posted how you make out.

where are PST products made?

It would depend on the products and in some cases specific part numbers. For example our torsion bars, pivots shafts, leaf spring, strut rods, bushings and some tie rods and ball joints are made in the USA. So it would be a part by part basis. Many of the suspension parts that we offer we have had long standing relationship with manufacturers and in some cases they are the manufacturers that TRW, MOOG and Proforge use. Regardless of where the part is made all parts that we offer carry a lifetime limited warranty against manufacturing and material defects for as long as you own your vehicle.

If you have any questions please let me know.

Thanks

Lifetime warranty, that’s a good sign of good customer service.

All is vary good feed back, i dont want to do it over as Tooljunkie did. I did purchase all PST for my charger. Just wanted to get everyone else’s feed back.

MOOG has gone down hill big time.. did all moog front end under our dart in like 2015. something was just never right. and it drove me nuts for the longest time. aftr reading of bad moog ball joints here and other forums i changed out the lower ball joints and boom fixed.. had a bad (binding) lower ball joint right out of the box.. won't be using moog any longer.. seems many like Proforge now.. i have a idler arm from them and it looks nice.

Proforge seems to have a lot of happy customers. Moog seems to be nothing but repackaged overseas junk. Shame Joe, they were the standard back in my day.

To get the discount do just have to call or what’s the way to retrieve it?

I have used their products even met James he did me a huge favor. You cannot beat their front end kits and the 1.03 bars are great for big block cars!

Mine shipped quick and it was nice that everything needed showed up in one box. You might as well order the lower control arm stiffening plate. I wish I would have as it would not have been that much more work when it was torn apart.

Already did that one on my charger

Because it's "made in the USA" is absolutely NO indication of quality...
That's a good joke....

FirmFeel uses Moog stuff. I used their full suspension kit when I did my car 2 years ago. I’ve not had a problem with the moog stuff, but I’ve also only put about 1000-1500 miles on the car. I will say, as much as Rockauto sucks, their pricing for moog stuff is the cheapest. Even with shipping added is was still less than other big parts houses..

I doubt you can ask Rock what their box states as to country of manu.!! Like said, lot of people buy these kind of parts based on where made and what the box says! Piece by piece if necessary.

I think McQuay-Norris made front suspension parts for Chrysler. I also think they are still around, made good parts, & made in USA. Again, I think.

Sounds good, but, what is your definition of "lifetime limited warranty" and "manufacturing and material defects"? Is what most of us would consider premature wear covered?
