MP valve covers, this is hard to believe

-
Maybe it's time to open the vault!
I've got a pair of primo Cal Custom small block LA valve covers I had on my old 340 back in the early '70s. The area between the fins was painted black. No scratches or nicks and the aluminum is polished and looks like new.
I also have a brand new pair of gold-anodized lightweight aluminum Moroso small block LA valve covers. They've never been on an engine.
I was saving both pair to be able to change up the appearance of my Magnum small block from the polished Magnum Mopar Performance finned covers on it now. But at this kind of crazy money I may have to re-think.

There is a set for sale here at nearly the same ridiculous price.

Always thought those valve covers were fugly
Plus they have nowhere to attach the plug wires.
Where's the thumb down button ?

Damn, I have a new set still in the box, with all grommets, and a old set sitting on a extra engine.

Yes crazy but people want them and they are hard to get...remember the matching air cleaner? Those went for big bucks too....but they started making those again, but may be out of stock again now too. All about supply and demand I guess!

I have a set but don’t care much for them today, they leak, no wire loom holders, had to grind them to fit with different intakes.... but I bought the em when I was 15 or 16 and it was one of the first things I got for my 340, so I’ll always keep them.

That’s sellers buddy shill bidding on them. Kind of like dangling bait to some un knowing fool to bid on them.

Wow! I got a set for $100 with the matching air cleaner. Bought another set for $60 that needed repainting. Traded the second set for a Weiand SB 4 barrel intake and all the accessory brackets off a 360! LOL!
