It seems to be a pretty nice carburetor. Someone had it that knew even less than I. lol It had 29 IFRs in it. I have some 26s coming because I couldn't find 27s. I think it's really close now. Like you say, just fiddle.

I bought a really nice carburetor too. looked brand ******* knew from an old-timer who had a really cool 56 Chevy and a 383 stroker in it with a 50cc pump it was a demon 750 mechanical. He didn't think it ran right so he had put it up for sale for like 50 bucks. Damn thing look brand-new I put on my car ,it ran really good compared to the holley classic 750....but you know what?.. it always had this weird thing when I got off the freeway it seems to idle differently well wouldn't you know it... it had a bad throttle shaft bushing and it ******* vac leaked. That's the carburetor that was on my stroker when it blew up.
Pay attention.
Already checked them. They appear as new. It doesn't "change" how it runs, unless I change something. So far, everything I've done has been an improvement. So far. lol

Okay well the base ring tells me it's either a little bit fuel washed or lean on the idle.

You may well be right.....the tailpipe says the opposite, but I know how carburetors can foll you sometimes too. I will say this......It's been lean "everywhere else" so far. Primary and secondary jets. But I wonder......could the lean idle condition cause the hot long crank issue? I would think that would be rich instead.....but I know what happens when I think.

Well I'm reading some used plugs, from not so great initial tunes. Buy one new plug at least and you can have a better idea. Trust me. You could very well be on but those plugs are effing smoked and they're not going to run right. Once a plug cannot clean itself it's done. They've never run right for me at least. Make sure you dont have fuel push over after shut down.

UTG is what he is, but how a guy can have such a hard on for junk is beyond me. I mean when you are a kid and cant afford anything thats one thing, but eventually you get a job and buy the car ya want. the junk is a necessity when you are a kid in high school workin' part time...as far as the plugs go, I think thee used to be an air powered spark plu g cleaner that sandblasted them clean..I seem to recall...

I think he smokes used cigs n destroys cylinder heads...probably wears used underware n buys used tires, fornicates with used flogged out 'Sidewalk Sallys' n also snorts blow from 4th person dealers and has diarrhea constantly from it. A poor unfortunate soul.

What he does is blame everyone but himself for the failure of his project. Saw where he had a pushrod poke through a rocker, not uncommon by any means, especially when you use a worn out rocker, on a retrofit roller cam, with 340 replacement springs...valve float city....and of course its comp cams fault, cause the lifters bleed down. 100% hack

The reason he has "junk" is because he is all about showing what a kid or someone on limited funds can do in the driveway, yard, shade tree which is basically what you said in your post. Anyone can plunk down a fistful of dollars or have a shop build your car, engine, trans, rear, etc. His target is low buck guys and gals or those who don't want to spend lots of cash. Like it used to be back in the early days of hot rodding. I for one would gladly take his "junk" cars. Especially the white RR. See you next month.

Yeah, showing people with no money how to break junk parts, and run slow times... back a zillion years ago when I was growing up, we were taught if you cant do it right, dont do it at all. And he makes money doing videos of his garbage, he doesn't care what people do or say. Watch his videos, buy his merch...that's where he makes money.
Well....turns out original parts are pretty damn good compared to the new crap being manufactured. Just look at all the new camshaft and lifter fails over the past few years as an example. Getting to where NOS and used (not cam/lifter) is the best way to go. I guess you are lucky that you have never broken anything and your best time is right after a parts change. Not me.

He's never going to put interiors in them, he may get them running but they aren't street legal or safe to operate on the street. How does that help "low buck guys?" no woman will ride in chit like that ...so on date night the chick better have the car cause Uncle Tonys cars wont get it done...no class...
