1978 engine 440 CID. out of RV ...what's it worth???

The lower HP rating was partly due to the restrictive exhaust systems. By 1978, it was RVs, Trucks, Vans, C bodies and a scant few B bodies that still had the 440. The Coronet Police Pursuit 440 made something like 190 HP through restrictive manifolds and dual catalytic converters.
Torque was still abundant though. The Police 440 had 7.8 advertised compression, the RVs supposedly had 7.5. I am skeptical about the published factory compression ratio stats though. My own '70 Charger 383 2 barrel was rated at 8.7 to 1 but calculated to 8.12 to 1. That is over a half a point below the book number.
