so back in 09 i bought the wife what i like to call "her winter beater"

an 08 AWD charger with (at the time) 80K on it


here we are, over a decade later, double the mileage, chech engine light on, clear coat flaking and some rust
so, it needs to be replaced

so im looking around for about the same thing, AWD charger, about the same mileage and i'd LOVE to get it for the same 10K i paid for the 08 back in 09

so, this is what i found her

'14 AWD charger, 5.7 hemi, police package 73K miles and 11K

perfect right?

except for the fact that "driving a police car is ghetto"
i tried explaining to her we will be driving in the front, but no dice

im thinking of getting her this white one (she hates white) instead, it seems to be prepped for a female driver

My gal would rock either of those cars so fast you wouldn't even see her drive off.
 
Maybe she wants one in blue like the State Boys run here in MI.
 
Bought my wife a pt cruiser. She wasnt amused. Bought her a second one and my daughter drove the 1st one.
Customer bought his wife a mercedes, she really likes it.
Tried to book an oil change with me, i wont let it in my shop. They pay an arm and a leg for service.

so the old crusty car is fine, but a 14 “ghetto” car is not? Guess if thats all there is to drive, than so be it?

nah, it ist state, its gotta be green

but it isnt even the color, its just the fact it used to be a police car (even though the black one, slap a set of rims on it and you cant even tell it was a cruiser)

the funny thing is, when i first bought her the 08, she loved the road presence it had
its a dark midnite blue and if you come barreling down the highway people would just move over thinking it was a cop car

but a real cop car, i guess not

saddest part is, im just trying to good husband...trying to get her a nice car, not too old and with a nice engine, and it just so happens that after 2014, the only way to get an AWD charger with a hemi, is with a police package

so shes either gonna end up with an older one, or with one with a smaller engine (even though the 3.5 she has now isnt slow either)
 
Just a thought, maybe let her pick what she wants to drive. I know my wife went from a dodge spirit to a dodge grand caravan to a hyundai Santa fe. She loved all of them and is very happy.... my life is so much better for it. Good luck.
 
Last 2 cars I bought for my wife have both been station wagons. Her choice because she likes the room for the dogs and the versatility.

She wants what she has now, an AWD charger

The only hang up is the fact it was originally a cop car

I tried explaining to her that it's got a cop motor, a 348 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks...
 
Do yourself a big favor just tell her to let you know when she finds the one she wants and be done with it.
 
Id get the white one (i despise black cars for me, others can try to keep em clean), round file the grill guard, get a nice set of twenties for daily use, ....and put four drag radials on the cop rims, and buy a nitrous setup.

She needs a good *** kicking to knock some sense in her.

That is the most badass thing I've seen in awhile. Cop cars are just the **** dreams are made of. Driving with authority, when people get out of your way because they think you are an unmarked smokey. Hell yea.

That's a good car that has an upgradeable v8 and I love the classic dog dish/steelie look

Because they don't know better. They have not been enlightened by auto school so they are in darkness of ignorance.

Its possible that non car people don't actually have souls and are just groups of nerve endings moving around aimlessly.
