Stop in for a cup of coffee

Wheel split, ring tacked on 1/2 and ready for inner rim. A few tacks and put it in balancer to see how close i got it.

Does anyone think these braces added to early A have any benefit? @Mattax ?

Absolutely, they help stiffen the front end of the car, from twisting.....
I was going to leave them off. Not saying they were available
on early. But now I am installing a sway away anti sway bar and it seems these will help..

Those from the 70s cars?
Maybe.
I know Mapes has found his early As relatively stiff. Would diagaonal bracing help further? Probably. Enough of a difference to make a difference? That I don't know. I'm going to add them to my '67 one of these days.

Changed filters in fish pond again.
Think I just may have to go and get any x Ray on the shoulder that the gate hit and knocked me done on Thursday.
I have movement and strength . Just a big red mark, and it does hurt. I've broken enough bones to figure it's fractured.
Oh my pistol grip shifter for the Valiant arrived. See what I have to do with that. Priorities. Cars before self.

.

Good luck with your shoulder...

So decision time. Ist picture is existing shifter.
2nd is pistol grip I bought and the seller dropped it in a USPS baggy.
No bubble wrap zip zero, nada. But he did take the time to write Fragile on the package. surprised the grips weren't busted.
3rd is the good one I have.
So aside from the condition of the two choices.
Do I shorten the one. Or add about 2 inches to the short e body shifter.

You have frame connectors i presume?

45 inches around rim, inside and out=180 inches of weld. Per wheel. Thats 30 feet of welding.

Round one goes with bucket seat

weeeeeellllllll ****.

I just was tuning up the carb a tad, when I noticed that my slant is a little...... slantier.
I guess when I was driving it to the shop and back, the rubber bushings in the passenger motor mount decided to squish or just kill itself.
So everything is off by an inch or two. I guess going to school is the last time I am driving it before redoing the whole front end.

dammit.

You can replace the mount without a front end rebuild.....

Welded, ground off all the dingleberries and painted. Will be ready to put tire on in the morning.

Lengthen and curve the short e-body shifter. That way you can custom fit it to the car/driver. Maybe even tilt it to the driver just a bit.
