Ex wife was weeding flower beds one weekend and I came out of the Garage and saw a damn snake in a million pieces. I am like WTH. All snakes died in her eyes. It was a Garter snake.....
I shook my head on that one as we had built our house on a Copperhead den (or so Game and inland fisheries thought) so seeing other snakes was a good thing. Side note is we ended up with a Owls that summer and just like they said the problem went away....
Your safe OP but those Black racers have a mind of their own and are set in their ways. They will chase you if they feel threatened and don't have a way out lol...
