On copperheads, we have a couple around our place. My wife looked up how dangerous they are and found the last medically reported copperhead snake bite in the State of New Jersey was 1952. Copperheads will avoid conflict at all cost and bite only as a LAST resort. Like a doberman or pit bull, they can kill you, but the don't. I actually talk to and hang out with them; even fed one a small fish once. (Pic is of 2 garters that live under out porch.) I did relocate a rather large copperhead from living in our cellar to across the lake once. Was too occupied to get pictures.
