Don't know if you've already torn this back apart or not. I had the same problem with the Performer I installed on my 318. In hindsight, I'm sure I didn't lay a heavy enough bead on the China walls. I was able to get mine to stop leaking out the back by pulling the distributor, cleaning very well with brake clean, and then laying a "fillet" of black rtv and working it under the back edge of the intake with a finger. 600 miles later, no leaks so far. May not be the right way, but I had no coolant leaks and really didn't want to have to start over. Just food for thought.
