Sorry upon further inspection it is a yellow wire. I took a picture of it anyway. The bulb is on a bracket that is sandwiched between the ignition switch and dash housing.
I also took a picture of the hole above the key that the light glows through.
Not sure if all dash housings have the hole or only the one that had this option.
