Converting the 65 Valiant to manual steering. With the magnum Engine serpentine system. I don't have a/c. and now, no p/s. I am having trouble finding a belt that is short enough online. Anyone know a part # by chance.

Have you tried going "behind the counter " at the parts store? They will normally allow it.

Use a string to measure it first.

66fyssh, to late for that today. I Will in the morning. I was just throwing it out there hoping for a Quick answer. I Will also look in the magnum swap some more tonight.

I gotcha. Never know if you don't ask! Most things have been done before, just gotta have the right person see the question.

This thread below, page two talked about this. The part number I used is in post 37.
Van power steering bracket issues

Not mine…..

Run a rope or something… count the inches, add 1, test fit the belt. Best of luck! Let us know what you end up with and the routing of the belt.
Pictures please when your done.

It was a bit of work, but this is how I set mine up.

How did you mount the tensioner pulley set up on the drivers head? I like that the belt wraps around the pulley’s more.

IDK who’s engine it is that I posted but I’d like to ask them a question on mounting the idler pulley on the Alt. bracket. Just a pulley swap from smooth to ribbed? Also how many inches the belt is. Very compact.

I got the idea from a post Evan @ Magnum Mopar put up a while back, he was thinking about producing a bracket/kit. I used the stock base, and kept trimming it until the pulleys lined up with a straightedge. 2 or 3 pieces of flatbar to span the bolt holes, found a belt that was close enough, set the tensioner a bit over half way loaded and welded it down. I think that's a cut-down A/C bracket, but I'm not sure.

it’s mine. I can get a belt size when I get Home later this evening

Those pictures and belt part numbers are in the link I posted. Originally dusted had a 6 rib belt, but I used a 7 rib of the same length for mock-up tests.
Magnum tensioners have an indicator to show when it is centered properly with the correct length belt. I cut a full length belt and clamped it to length with vise grips. This way you can check for proper length, mark it, remove it, and measure it. Works perfectly on all setups that are not stock.

@Bobzilla The tensioner has a mark for the belt being the right length? Holy cow! I did t know that. Dang!
Got to it, post #37; Van power steering bracket issues
Banbo Rib Ace part number 7PK1410.
I never heard of that brand. You got it at Advanced Auto?
@dusted Thank! I saved the picture because I’ll never remember. I want to delete a P/S set up. That pulley is ribbed? I can’t see it on the cell I one very clearly. Also, it is simply bolted to the acc bracket? Spacers?

Ok, i'm not done yet. I have the'conversion'a/c bracket with the Big pulley. So the Setup that dusted has won't exactly work. So I bought the small ribbed pulley and replaced the large one. The large one has a bearing spacer, not needed for the small pulley. Ran a string around the pulleys and measured it.70 inches, with the tensioner relaxed.I assume I need 1" shorter belt. I Will check on one tomorrow. So the belt I ordered from dusted post won't Work. The pulley I got is a duralast part, # is 231070.From a 3.5 magnum I Think. If anyone is interested converting to manual steering saves a minimum of 40 lbs.
