What NON-Mopar car do you most regret selling?

69 Trans Am! I bought it in 1976, and it had been in a fender bender at some point and had the grill and hood replaced. It still had the fender scoops, and decklid spoiler. It was white, and you could see where it had once had stripes on the top, and decklid. It was a 400, 4 speed, with a 3.08 positrack rear end. The car was one of the fastest cars I've ever owned, and I showed it little mercy every time I sat down in it. The top end that car had was unbelievable, and it's a thousand wonders I'm still alive to type this because I tested that regularly at 18 years old when I owned that car. I had no clue that it was a Trans Am, or that they had even made such a thing in 1969. I ended up trading it in on a Ford pickup, so I could pull a horse trailer...when I started dating a girl that was a barrel racer. :BangHead: :realcrazy: I was 0 and 1 at that point because of thinking with the little brain.......but learned a valuable lesson VERY quickly.
 
I bought a 63 1/2 Ford Galaxy from a used car lot about 20 years ago. I went with a friend to deliver a car & while I was waiting, I saw the Galaxy sitting way in the back of the lot. I told my friend to find out the story on the car & get back to me. The next week, he calls & tells me the car is a none running vehicle, but they didn't have anymore info on it. I cruised by on the next Saturday & asked if I could take a closer look at it. The lot owner gave me permission & I wound my way between all of the cars in front of it. It was black in really nice shape with an aftermarket red cloth interior with white piping on the edges of the seats. Open the hood to see a 352 2bbl with power brakes, power steering & A/C. After I went over it thoroughly, I went back up front & talked to the lot owner again & he tells me that one of their former mechanics brought the car in & abandoned it when he left. He said he had obtained a title for the car in the lots name after it sat there for a year & tried to sell it. Someone took it out for a test drive & it quit running, so they wreckered it back & put it in the back of the lot. I finally asked what they wanted for the car & was told $300.00. I bought the car & trailered it home & started trying to find out why it didn't run. Fast forward 2 weeks, I've got gas, but no spark, I pulled the distributor cap & spun it over, the rotor wasn't turning. Pulled the distributor to find the gear is missing 5 teeth. Replaced the distributor, changed the fluids, got it running & drove it like I had stolen it. I won some best unrestored trophies with it & got a lot of thumbs up when I took it out. Other than the aftermarket interior, the car was too original to cut up. I drove it to car shows & on pretty weekends for about 3 years or more. I was at my local parts store getting gaskets for a Mopar engine build & a guy asked if it was for sale & I told him yes, he asked for my number & we went our separate ways. A week later he calls & asks if he & his wife can come look at the car & drive it. I pulled the car out, hosed it off & wiped it down. They show up, look the car over & take the car around the neighborhood. They pull back in my driveway & get offers me $4000.00 for it, I told him I had to thinks about it & to call me in 3 to 4 days. He calls back & ups the offer to $4500.00, I tell him to get the cash, or certified cashiers check & meet me at my bank. We show up at the bank, I deposit the check to make sure it was good & we transferred the title to his name at the same time. I miss the car because it was just a really, really nice cruiser. I saw it around the area for about 5 years & then it disappeared & I have no idea what became of the car or its owners.
 
Only non-mopar vehicle I regret selling is my 2011 GMC Canyon v8. Was a wild little truck with an all aluminum 5.3L v8.

My 1973 Monte Carlo S-coupe.

I bought it in 1982 from a good neighbor that had owned it since new. He always called it the “Mighty Carlo”.

The car only had 58k miles on it and had been garage kept since it was new. 350 4 bbl V8 with factory dual exhaust and performance suspension. It was completely loaded with full gauge cluster (including tach), ice-cold A/C with power everything and soft cloth interior. The car was immaculate and didn’t have a scratch on it. It was the first “nice” car I ever owned. It was the best highway cruiser I had ever experienced at that point in my life. It would do 100 mph with total confidence and a ride that was glass smooth, begging me to go faster.

At 120 mph the speedo would begin to knock and remind me to back off a bit.

Oh, what it would be like to be 18 again and finding such total ecstasy behind the wheel of that car. No fear, no worry...just a joyous experience!

First one that comes to mind is a 20th Anniversary 1984 1/2 Mustang GT350 convertible. I've had 2 of them, the first one I bought off the showroom floor when I was 21. Lost my job a few months later and had no choice but to sell it. The second one I bought in 2011, was a California car, absolutely immaculate condition. I bought it because I had always felt like I was cheated out of the one I had at 21 years old. Kept it for 4 years, then sold it for $3000.00 more than I paid for it, did nothing but regular maintenance and have fun with it for those 4 years.
I also had a 1980 GMC C15 2 wd that I paid $300.00 for in 1997 or 98, had a cracked block, dropped another motor in it and drove the wheels off that truck for 5 or 6 years, never let me down, but the tin worm got to it bad, like most square body GMs.
There are a few others, I had a 1987 Thunderbird with a 5.0 that was in exceptional condition, bought from an insurance company auction for $225.00, had very minor damage to the hood and grille. That car was a lot of fun to drive.
 
1967 Firebird convertible with a 400 4 speed. Traded it for a ratty car trailer back in 77. They made 300 of them that year. now going for between 33,000 to 111,000.
 
A few but the ones that quickly come to mind are a 1966 SS396 Impala Convertible Marina blue, white int. and top. Fully loaded GM executive vehicle. And next would be a 1969 SS396 Chevelle Convertible Marina Blue white int. and top not fully loaded but had A.C. power windows and locks. Pure chick magnets.
Here's one (of many) I let get away it was a little too rusty. About 69 or 70 a 1966 Mustang Convertible Bronze with a white top and int. with the 289ci 271hp & 4 speed for $400.00!
 
The list would be shorter if asked DONT regret selling but, a car you don't see much of is the German imported Mercury Capri. Mine was a 73 model.

I bought my wife a 66 TVR, with a 307 hp Shelby 289.
She got a ticket first day, doing 40 mph in a 30, in first gear, on the main drag.
Cop had to get on his knees to write her up, lol.
0 - 60 in 3.8 (1st gear)- top speed 160ish, but the top of the windshield would pop in .
Only automotive regret I have .

I bought a 1989 Taurus SHO with the Yamaha engine brand new. The engine was great, but the rest of the drivetrain was not up to the power. Ford put 3 clutches in it before I sold it. I was told it had a Mazda transmission and a Ford Escort clutch.
 
I had a 71 Pontiac Tempest T-37. I miss it,it would be fun to play around with today. It was a cheap car back in 1988 though, alot of power at the time...
 
No Regerts :lol: but.. 1979 Jeep CJ7, 258 w/3spd, the big black beast - if it wasn't painted black, it was chrome, 2" body lift, 3" suspension lift, 33" mudders on 15x10's, winch, tube bumpers front and rear, engine was totally rebuilt, Offy intake with Holley, 3x3 headers to dual exhaust. I do regert not hiding my pics of it from my ex :BangHead::BangHead: it lives in my memory only, the kid I sold it to rolled it. :(
 
Last year, my stroker '71 Nova 383/400 trans/3:73.. cars was as tight as a drum, and drove great. I sold it for a good profit, but I had no need to do so. Difficult to find another as nice for reasonable money. :BangHead: Stupid move.

My 1967 Pontiac GTO, all original big block car. Single 4 barrel but the higher horsepower with an automatic, but it had the Hurst his/hers shifter. Black plate car here from California. It was gulf turquoise exterior with a turquoise interior. Beautiful car, sold it to put a roof on my house! Of all the cars I've had and sold, that one kills me.
 
71 torino GT 351c shaker hood car.

Almost as clean and unmolested as my current 73 Satellite.

Just one 50 cent piece sized rust hole over the rear wheel.

Buckets, console and AC,

I've only ever seen one other small block shaker hood car.
 
1970 Pontiac Le Mans Sport, gold- black vinyl top- tan interior- buckets- 350- console auto- rallye 2 wheels- my first car, ran like a dream, very cool car.
 
Hmm, fist I have had to have had a non-Mopar
1955 Chevy, not mine (kids car, bro ended up with it, he sold it)
1969 Pontiac Le Mans, paid $350, sold $1300 no regrets
1986 Sprint, ex wifes car, never in my name, traded for 1990 Mazda truck
1990 Mazda truck, went with the ex, no regrets (on both)

Sold nine different Mopars (still have my first), a couple might have been nice to keep, no regrets.

I do have a non-Mopar daily, 1999 F250 SD 7.3
