So last Thursday started with my neighbor calling to tell me that she had to jump in my pool and pull our blind dog out. Apparently she, somehow, climbed the gate we have around the pool and fell in the pool. Her son heard her and my other dog (her brother) crying and she went in the yard to investigate. Thank God she did.
Later that night my Brother in law, Sister in law and 2 nephews were hit from behind by a drunk driver, who was later found to be racing another car. They were pushed from behind and into a tree and wall. See the pics of the van for the damage. My Brother in law broke his toe, and filet his foot needing stiches. My nephew split his lip so bad he needed 2 surgeries, my other nephew broke his femur requiring 2 surgeries and is still in the hospital. My Sister in law looks like she was beating by angry men with baseball bats; but lucky for her nothing broke or cut.
My son jumps in the Dart to head out to help and there is a partially broken up couch in his lane on the freeway with traffic around him and no where to go. He hits it and bends his rim, and the damage you see in the pic. Considering our night he was lucky. Now for the repairs. He's had the rim repaired but now for everything else.

Be safe out there.

Dayum, the folks in the van were extremely lucky to be alive from the looks of the van. I hope everyone fairs well & heals quickly.

I’ll say that your good fortune, and theirs, saved their lives and kept them from serious injury, and your son and the pups as well. It’s a good day to be alive, and I thank God that they are.

As bad as everything went, it could not have gone any better... You could have been putting family in the ground over that wreck...

Buy that neighbor a beer and make sure someone gets the hell sued out of them because of Drinking and driving....

I am not the biggest advocate for safety that has ever lived, and I do not like new cars and things like that.

BUUUUUUUT, all the safety stuff obviously works wonders.
Hope everyone recovers quickly!
