This is my 2nd. This replaced my first I had to sell for a minivan in the 90s when 4th child in 5 years was born. I did what I had to do at the time. But sale haunted me. (Including an occasional recurring dream) I looked for 3 years for a car very similar. Same year, color (Exterior. Interior very different), performance 440 and 4-speed. I found this one near Canadian boarder now 3 years ago. This is not numbers matching. But period correct components. (Thus $21k sale price reflected.)

Same joy of driving. But this car has a different personality. Because of taller rear tires on 15" rim? (Both GTX with Dana 3.54:1 rear gear) It's not as quick thru the gears as first GTX. But damn, this thing is a highway Comado! My first GTX was done at 130 MPH. With the beginning of a drivetrain vibration. This guy? Smooth as silk while burying its 150 Speedo. Stock tach showing 6k RPM. How accurate are 50+ year old gauges? Calculation does suggest 140+ MPH. So close enough. Only concerns of tire performance and signs/sounds of valve float stopped her. (Or me and FEAR!)

P.S. Recurring dream has stopped. And I'm more than happy with the addition to my Plymouth family. Adding a B-body to an already Plymouth A-body and E-body stable.

Not that I don’t love my dart but if I tripped over one of those it would be in my shed

B-bodies are my first love. My Duster is a 10 sec index drag car. My Cuda is a Pro Street project. The GTX? Totally street. Near stock build. With stock exhaust. (I'm guessing 400+ HP.)

I have a 2014 Cadillac XTS VSport. Twin turbo rated at 410 HP. With a friend driving it did pull ahead against the GTX. (This was predicted with its 7 speed transmission.) But not for long. The 440 was PISSED! And easily caught the Cad by 1/2 mile. No contest after that. Give the GTX that much gear? That stock 440 car would turn in high 12s. Just takes too long for the 440 to get into its power band with current 4-speed and gear set.

My kid bought me some kind of spray in a pump bottle. You spray the baked on bug guts leave it for a couple minutes and wipe the splatter off. No fuss no muss. What is the last thing to go through a bugs mind when he hits your grill. His asshole. I’ll post name of spray when I make it out to shop

LOL Yep *** holes all over my car.
Thanks I've been trying to find something to take the bugs off.

True buts lots of FEEL and experience to get this thing tuned so it will start and run proper. Different engineering like the rear axle has to come out to change clutch plate.
Would it be easier to pull the engine than the axles? I never looked at it that close.

No axle is the way. Car uses a toque tube. Floor is wood easy to remove don’t really have to get under car except to remove axle which is easy also. Leave wheels on and roll it back a foot or so

Ok I see what your saying and would guess my 1.5 ton AA would be no different.
I'll have to crawl under it and check it out.

More than likely.

Very good book. Gives accurate and detailed information on how to. Like aligning the front end it’s easy but it’s unlike anything else I’ve worked on. You have to start the process at A if not your end point Z will be nowhere close to being straight

It is a good book I have it. Also have one on my AA and a pile more I haven't looked at yet but the one you have in the picture is very complete and I use it most of the time.
