I have a 67 Valiant 2 door hardtop signet. I contacted safelite and they cant get a windshield for the valiant but I checked the website, and they have one for a 67 Dart 2 door hardtop. Will it fit? How about the seal?

Thanks!

hardtop and post cars have different windshields but I believe the 67-69 dart four door windshield is the same as a 67-72 valiant (all) and 67-68 dart 2 door post.

Just want to confirm that a 67-69 dart four door windshield will fit my 67 valiant 2 door post car. Can anyone help?

You can interchange from 2 door to 2 door, or 4 door to 4 door, not between 2 door and 4 door as the height is different. Just enough to piss you off....

DW691 is the aftermarket part # 2 dr and 4dr sedan windshields are the same. A 67-69 will fit.

I should of mentioned mine is a post car. Does that change things?

Then why did you originally call it a 2 door hardtop? Hardtops have no post. A 2 door with a post is a 2 door sedan, and is also sometimes called a coupe. That's where all the confusion started.

One important thing a lot of people don't realize is that the 2 door post cars were actually based on the 4 door. A factory conversion if you will.
This goes for '67 to '69 Darts and Valiants, as well as the early to mid '60s B-Bodies.
Therefore, the windshield you seek is actually for a 4 door, because they had the same windshield, backlight, and roof as a 4 door.

A 1967 and 1968 2 door post cars uses the same windshield as a 4 door post car from 1967 through 1976.

I disagree with that. Oh wait, the "post car" may make the difference....

I had a 69 Valiant 4 door and had the windshield removed to have it installed in my 68 Barracuda Fastback. The window guy said that they were not interchangeable. Luckily, he removed the Valiant window from the parts car first and we set it over the Barracuda window, and it was about 1" taller, and the Barracuda was my daily driver (It would have sucked to have to pay him to remove and install the same windshield)....

Post car is the difference. The Barracuda windshield interchanges with the hardtops.

i know this is an old thread but i need a front windshield for my 68 valiant 2 door signet sedan (post). will a dart sedan (post) one fit as it'll be easier to source here in the uk? also are 2 and 4 door ones the same.
thanks, neil.

I thought that question was answered in this rather lengthy thread, but a sedan is a sedan, 2 or 4 so "yes."

You cannot use a HARDTOP front/ rear glass (or side glass) in either a 2 or 4 door post/ sedan.

Simple answer is stop counting doors. The car is either a hardtop (no post) or a post sedan/station wagon. Glass, gasket, stainless reveal moldings, even wiper blade length is different.

yeah i read through it and there's a lot of 'pretty sure's' and 'i think so's', but i need to know for sure before ordering a screen as i can't afford to buy 2. thanks for the confirmation .

Here is a for sure.
Order a windshield for a '68 Valiant 4 door and it will fit.
Here's another way to look at it, '67 to '69 2 door Valiants were just 4 doors that were converted at the factory to be 2 doors.
The roof as well as the front and rear glass is the same for a 2 door and a 4 door.
