I just joined the form, and I’ve been working for several years finishing my dad’s 65 barracuda. It’s got an 8 3/4 inch narrowed diff, tubbed, hemi four-speed, and a 360 engine. I’m posting pictures, but cover your eyes if you’re a purist.

Welcome to FABO!!!

I'm sure you're having fun finishing it up. It's going to be awesome when it's done!

A little more info. The car had very little rust. It was built to drag race but I've decided to drive it on the street and race it occasionally. The trans is the 833 and the rear diff is a 489 case with I think a 3:55 posi. I went ahead and put sub frame connectors on it due to the fact that it will have a stick shift and big rear tires. I'm going to run it as a nitrous car with the bottles under the rear glass. We will call it nitrous under glass and that is why I have that paint scheme. I plan on about 500 hp and I think the drive train should hold up pretty good with that power level.

Love it and smart move on the connectors, my '65 flexed noticeably on parking deck ramps.

Thanks for all the kind words and input. My grandfather retired from working for Plymouth decades ago, and my Dad was loyal to the brand. I've been getting into this project, liking having something different after so many years seeing so many Novas, Camaros and Chevelles. I think it will be done in a month or two. Right now I'm trying to decipher what interior trim pieces I need, not sure what I am looking at so I will hunt down an exploded diagram I guess.

Start loose attaching things until your parts supply dwindles down, that will tell you what you are missing & you can take pictures so people will know what you are looking for.

I took the parts down to the shop finishing the restoration and they basically told me what you said. Thanks, kind of a mess. I was told "you have to look at it like doing a puzzle"

This is SO very true, I had to do the same thing a few years ago but I was much younger then. LMAO

About 5-6 years ago I built a 65 Cuda that was a roller and the rest was in boxes> Start with the obvious stuff and go from there!! Send us pics of whats left!

Diff has been narrowed and here are the tires and rims. It is running now with the near stock 360. Glass goes in next week.
