How to get broken pin out if 8 1/4 chunk?

If your good with a stick welder you can put a rod against the broken piece with the stinger, then have someone else turn the welder on and off real quick. The rod will weld itself to the pin and you can pull it out. When I was mud dragging I would shear axle off right outside the carrier. About a 3” stub. I would weld however many rods together and use this process to remove it.
