What makes this unique is the slotted adjustable arm with the head mounted bellcrank

The different engine isn't usually the issue but almost everyone that changes intakes has this mis-adjustment issue. Replacing a stock AFB with a late model Edelbrock is usually ok but may require the Mopar adapter. (so it's not necessarily a carb issue but a intake thing)
