For family.
In 1980 my step father dismantled and started restoration of this 55 Bel Air. That was many years, several moves, and a divorce ago.
My brother and I have great memories working on it with Larry when we were kids, and its been a mythical family icon if not heirloom for 41 years.
Its been in my brothers care for quite a while and he’s made sporadic progress in the last 10 years. Last week he called me and said “We’re gonna drive the 55 to the show on the 15th. Larry is coming”
After clarifying 15th of August? Thats crazy! I’m in!
I drove up from CA, and my bro is stuck at work on a tugboat in LA til Thurs.
This is where I’m at today. The show is in our hometown, and nearly the whole family is coming to see the car. Wish us luck!

Nice car. Im putting fuel injection on my boss's 55 chevy tomorrow.

Put safety and mechanical first, cosmetic last on the list, as in if you drive it with no carpet and door panels its no big deal, you could install those things at the show...while "camping" if you do the overnight thing.

I love those shoebox Chevies.
It's going to be awesome when done!
Keep us posted.........

DartSwinger- My thoughts exactly. Brakes & steering are done. Workung on park brake, seatbelts & temp header mufflers now. Headliner & door panels are last on the list, but before this:

Super cool! As all the previous posts requested. Keep us posted. No pressure! Coolest part of the FABO community. In the end we are all just gear heads and don’t really care about brand. So what if it is not Mopar, still a cool project even if I won’t let you park in my drive with it! Hah! Good luck guy hope you make it.

Header mufflers installed, seat test fitted w relocation brackets, bizarre choice of wheels detailed, and wiring, wiring, wiring. Hanging front sheet metal tomorrow.

I love this face!
We’ve got oil pressure, but the neighbor gets up at 4am. No break in last night.
The bolt kit for the front clip weighs five pounds. So many fasteners!
I think we’re gonna make it!
