Ok, oil pump leaks just like you would expect from a 50 year old item. I tried to find a rebuild kit, Melling number is K-66CB. Oreilly’s and Jegs show them, but if you order in about 30 minutes you get a message saying it isn’t available. Pretty sure pump is original, thought a rebuild was a good idea for a pump that is working just fine, it just leaks. Anyone have an idea where I can one with seals and gaskets? 70 Duster with 198 slant.
Cheers
Tim

It’s been about 5 years ago I was able to order the oil pump rebuild gaskets separately. The oil pump mounting gasket, the o ring gasket that goes under the rotor plate, the small gasket that goes into the relief valve end plug.
Give me a day or so and I will look in my parts manual and get the part numbers.
Another place to look and do a search is on e bay, from time to time nos rebuild kits that include the inner and outer rotors and the gaskets are posted for sale.
Also look on Rock Auto, they may have the individual gaskets for the oil pump.

And I just looked on the Rock Auto site, I looked under a 1967 Dodge Dart with a slant six and they listed the main seal that goes between the block and the oil pump and the o ring seal that goes under the rotor cover plate. That is two of the three oil pump seals. You could use a copper ring seal at the by pass end plug.

Thanks! I think I’m just gonna assume I don’t really need a full rebuild since it is working fine and order the parts from RockAuto. I did see the bypass plug gasket on there too. Thanks!

About 2 months ago I was able to get the gaskets and o ring thru O'Reilly's or useless zone I forget which (went to both in search of them)
I have an old old Melling rebuild kit which I am gonna be using for my build. Judging by the packaging and the logo design I'm sure this kit dates back to the early 70s and the gaskets shriveled up and dried out.
On the pump to block side I wound up with a pack of 10 of those via eBay before I went looking for the rest of the gaskets/seals. The rebuild kit came among a pile of /6 parts I got from another guy here about 6-8 months ago.
I sometimes see the rebuild kits for these oil pumps on ebay

Rock auto is nice as it list some old *** stuff that they get when they buy out old stock from manufacturers or distributors. The had a part for my B2000/Courier front suspension that no one had, even Ford obsolete, my '57's goto parts store around here.
