I'm painting my engine back to turquoise and I really do not care for it..I darkened up the color a bit and it still is just so so.Then I added green pearl to the clear and thought that's better.."under a flash it looks like a 70's bicycle seat" in person you can hardly tell...it's a pearl effect just on the edges...Plain or pearl,I can't decide

That’s just for the engine? Hell I’ve never had anything painted that nice. I think it looks great. At least in the picture.

Pearl. It seems subtle enough but
It will look cool if you plan on attending a car show or two.

Personally, I don't care for anything painted turquoise.
That goes for vehicles, engines, or interiors.

However, that clutch cover in the pic in the O.P. looks pretty darn good to me as is..........

For me, if it was the original factory engine color?
That's the way to go.

The guy that painted my 69 added a tiny bit of flake to the Orange.
It gets alot of compliments, in the daytime sun.

I personally I like the Chrysler blue from the 70s and 80s and orange for engines but I like the engine to be a different color than the engine bay (body color) for example my car is orange so I went with the blue for the engine if I was to do a blue car I'd do the engine in orange.

That's my thinking precisely!

I have all the orig paint codes for engines from back in the 70's.The orig turq color is very light, I darkened it up a bit and for a change I added the pearl. It's very subtle and my son brought up a good point that under the hood it would be hard to notice. The flash is what high lighted the pearl.I'm just going to go with the pearl,I'm not a car show kinda guy it's just for me...

I dunno man, the 1992 Fox Body Mustang had a nice Turquoise color...

Is the car stock or modified?

the stock color can look like too much when sprayed. But when the engine is all together and running all the other parts break it up and it looks good!

turquoise is an awesome color for an engine. That ugly blue and boring orange is used by other car brands.

I had the engine turquoise for years and when I freshened it I painted it orange, really didn't like it.Then after this whole alignment mess I took it out and freshened it again. Now I'm going back to turquoise only a little darker and with pearl. This was it before...

413...
yep that is the stock color for 1968 chry engine... Ditzer and Rinshed-Mason formula same same...got all that suff in the mid 70's...That's base/clear and the orig were single stage

I'm just glad Mopar actually painted their engines back then... frivalous?? (I can spell frivilus!) so now when I "restore" my old cars, they get the engines actually painted.:thumbsup::BangHead:

Yeah it was nice.
And I don't like it either!
I had a Q5 Seafoam Turquoise '69 Super Bee, and I hated that color too.
Different strokes for different folks............
