No..it is not....only difference is the balancing of the engine.......use a b&m 360 externally balance flexplate use any converter that fit the fits the trans with no weights on it

OP , I have a 318, and two 340s with a 4 speed setup. the one thing I like is the interchangeability. 318 and 340 I can use alot of the same parts, flywheel pulleys etc. Although like said with a 360 you just need to have a few specific things and you are in. If you cab get the 360 for next to nothing i say finding the rest of the parts would be easy.
