Helloooooo FABO!

I am curious if anyone has found a way to relocate the hood safety latch that will initiate brain surgery? Yknow the one. Maybe someone has flipped it down to the header? or some kind of witchcraft?

'brain'storming welcome

I carry a piece of pool noodle that's sliced to put over the latch. I just toss it down in the splash shield in front of the radiator so it's always handy. I get some questions about it if I have the hood up, but they understand once I show them.

I do like the lack of fabrication involved in this idea...

Easy is always good. Save your time for something else.

I used to use tennis balls, but I've found so many uses for the pool noodle (like on the handle of my floor jack) that either protect me or the body of the car (which doesn't heal). It's bright green so I see it before I close the hood but even if I forgot, it wouldn't do any damage.

Since I have an A body and a E body I learn to duck. The E body is the worse so maybe that's why I duck enough to not worry about the A body hook.

I have been working on the barracuda so long without the hook in place that when I go to do anything on the running duster I end up braining myself. Since the Duster is a nice original driver I dont want to modify anything, but the barracuda has been modified/no number/hot rod....so Im looking for solutions. Ill pool noodle the duster. (ok that sounded a bit off, but I think im in the safety bubble....ya?)

I have never had a problem with one hitting me on the head.
But I'm a short guy........

I take mine off and throw them in the pile. Then I put hood pins on and that becomes my "secondary latch"
