Sorry, that's not the way you measure a wheel. The measurement inside the rim from bead to bead is the width, and the diameter is a similar measurement that direction. It's too hard to actually measure on the bead surface, but, by measuring the approximate bead surface from the outside is easy enough to tell the size.
 
subtract an inch of the overall height for bead/tire size. Your 6.5 is actually called out as a 5.5
