Leanna Needs Our Help

-
I will probably send her something but in addition
I have a rebuilt 727 plus rebuilt converter
There was no problems with trans
It was out of my 69 B body so if you need it and are within driving distance of Staten Island give me a hundred and I will forward that money to her to help with funeral expenses

Hey Steve, you seem pretty new here, but what you are offering is something we have done for other members from time to time before, and now might be the time to do so

powers that be...perhaps one of our auctions is in place here?

i think we all love leanna, and would love to help her

I think you guys are rather credulous, and that you're being played.
I became a member of the FBBO family some years or so ago and I am aware of the quality work this lady provides and I know how high regard members hold her.
When my wife developed incurable Stage 4 cancer about the time I joined that forum, in a mood of despair I posted about it. The result was many wrote me about their own battles with cancer as well as battles their loved ones fought
Still too others prayed for my wife, complete strangers offering prayers for my wife.
Id like to think all those prayers were heard as although my wife still fights the good fight she is still here with her family.
So I also was a recipient of the good deeds and thoughts from these forums
The post and the person who posted it in the FBBO forum caught my eye. Although I am banned there I still read articles related to the hobby.
I will not expand upon my opinion on the OP of that thread but if I read it correctly Ms Leanne has financial difficulties, is at risk for loosing her business and now is facing more financial issues as she has to pay her mothers funeral expenses.
Mine is not to question, nor is it a issue of popularity, its a issue of giving back to a person in need
If I am being played or the circumstances are different than I understand them to be, im perfectly ok with that.
Im not questioning the member I quoted, I simply tell you my thoughts

To risk is to live. Id risk a C note to do the right thing. Lets say you are correct? If the recipient made 3K in donations and its legit, we players have done the right thing. If its a scam, none of us are out anything we cant spare. Ill risk it, not even care either way. Ill risk it and hope that Im helping someone in this world of pain. I give $30 a month to an organization called 'a drop in the bucket' that digs wells in areas that are poor. Water brings education to woman that would ordinarily have to haul water. Is the end result what is advertised? I dont know. Some of us try. Some pray. Some give money. $360 a year is nothing. $40 for FABO is nothing. Helping a fellow FABO member....priceless. Buck up friend....give it a risk.

I have no idea where Mr. Crowell got his information. Leanna has been in this & the other Mopar forums forever. I contacted her about doing some valve covers for me & she was extremely helpful over the phone & even sent color samples on her dime for me to look at. I found a place much closer to me that I had do the covers. I also put my coater in touch with her & she gave him some very useful tips & suggestions. As stated, IF & that is a VERY large IF, we are being played none of us have been separated from anything we can't afford. Before someone throws rocks, they need to make sure they aren't living in a glass house. END OF RANT!

I am incredulous at his 'information'. No disrespect meant (although could easily be inferred), but to say that I am overly ready to believe something without contradicting information is just stirring the pot brah.

Leanna is good. She needs our help. stay on target.

I'm in too. I wish it could be more.

I remember when you all did an auction when Nella was sick, and all of the outpouring of love and generosity meant the world to us. When I was feeling down and overwhelmed, I would read all of the comments, the well wishes and prayers, and it would lift my heart up and give me some wind under my wings. It’s not how much we donate, but more importantly that we show her that she is in our thoughts and prayers, that’s what’s really important. I know it was to me!

Didn’t expect this from a member who has been here since 2007....you must have seen some the positive stuff that’s happened on this site since you joined 14 years ago and seen all the help and support many, of which Leanna was a big part of....this is not a scam and nobody is being played! The people offering to help set this up and get it going are also good people and would never pull a scam.

Very sorry to hear of your loss. It's always tough losing the people in our lives.

As an aside, Leanna was super helpful a week ago when I had an entirely unrelated question on a part she powder coated. She is a gem. Count me in to help with the expenses, PP is on the way to aid a Damsel in Distress!

Quite frankly, I'm appalled. Takes a lot to do that, too. lol

I could barely get through @cosgig's opening paragraph here before I was toast so I apologize for being late to the party.

Saying "Thank You" is what I was taught to say ... but those two little words are wholly inadequate right now and don't even come close to reality. You guys are ALL rock stars who are going above and beyond the call and I want you each to know how much it means to me even when the right words aren't coming.

Joining FABO changed my life for the better. I've gotten to spend the last 15 years turning your dreams into reality and now you all are banding together to do it for me. To say I'm grateful and appreciate everything you're doing is the biggest understatement ever.

As to you @Bill Crowell, I'll post up a copy of her Death Certificate as soon as the funeral home has it ready. I tried not to take offense at your observation but it actually reflects more on my mom and dad than anyone else ... they were the ones who taught me that Integrity Is What You Do When No One Is Looking. I can only guess you somehow missed all those other Benefit Auctions for our members since you joined the board. Perhaps one day you'll need one too.

Thanks again everybody! You're changing a life once again.

I will say this, Leanne been on this site and FBBO many years, providing a much needed service, and I have never never heard a bad word said about her or her business. I will also bet my last $ that she is the kind of person that will appreciate any amount given, no matter how small it may be and will also give thanks for any word of comfort.
The amount of joy that the giver receives is always so much greater than that $ amount donated.

Way back in 2001, I woke one day and my old other had passed. Her only child.
I have been way up and way down, and at that time I just sold off my 89 1 T. Cummins Ram and paid for the funeral. All I could do. Some days life just bites us in the ***.

Based on past dealings with her, I will simply say that my mileage varies greatly from yours, Rob.

...and that's fine, Bill, there's a time and place for everything though and this isn't it. Have some class, ok?
