Woodward Takeaways

I live 15 minutes from Woodward and I cruise Woodward on Tuesday night, Wednesday night, and Thursday night. Tuesday and Wednesday I will go as far as 12 mile road then turn around and go north and head back towards Pontiac. Thursday I will go as far as 14 mile road then turn around and head north back towards Pontiac. I have learned my lesson never to go near Woodward on Friday or Saturday in the week of the dream cruise, it takes about 1 hour to go a half of a mile on those two days and in that half of a mile you might see 4 or 5 vintage cars. Going through Pontiac is just a joke on those two days, there are these groups of crazy people who block off the area and just do donuts in the middle of the street all traffic is stopped, this is in an area called wide track drive. The cruise is not what it used to be, I can remember a while ago the cruise was great, vintage cars all over the place both north and south up and down Woodward but not anymore. For those of you who wish you could attend the Woodward dream cruise be glad you can't, if you want to get a feel of todays Woodward dream cruise just go to your local car dealerships and look at all the new cars, that's what you see in todays Woodward dream cruise. By the way Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights the week of the dream cruise are great, there are more vintage cars out those nights, traffic moves along pretty good, and the spectators are sitting along the side of Woodward cheering for your cars.
