Howdy people, cosgig here. I have a question for your 1964 guys. I know on the 64 wiring harness at the bulkhead, there are only 2 plugs, and on the center of a harness I have there are 2 terminals on the center hump between the plugs, with big lugs and a slide spade terminal. On the back side facing the dash is a black and red wire. Question is, what fastens you those terminals on the engine side? Literally asking for a friend who had a wiring meltdown, and I gave him the harness. The one I gave him has the terminals, the one he had to take out does not. Any ideas? All input will be much appreciated. Thanks people for any help received.

Here is a 63 wire harness schematic for the dash 64 should be almost identical.

Here is a 65 bulkhead connector it has screws and plates holding the engine compartment side of the 2 wires that go to the ammeter.

There was some deal they skipped a year in the middle of all that you have to be careful and get the "right years" I can never remember which years did what. The years using the oversize connectors are obviously superior

They are indeed ^^as mentioned^^ the ammeter circuit. Black is to alternator, and feeds into the ammeter and main welded splice. Red goes in from the battery

Thank you gentlemen. He is having someone replace the wiring harness for him, and I gave him both sides, an entire under dash harness and the engine side as well. They should have enough to get this done, but that was a stumper for them.

IDK the answer that that; likely it was since 66/later used the terminals and as we know there were problems later on with corrosion resulting in burnt wires and components.
