Hey guys .
I suspect my mechanical fuel pump is a little loud
(68 383) I'm thinking of replacing it .
I thought I read somewhere you could temporarily bypass it by pinching off the fuel line..
Or am I dreaming that?

By pass for what reason? I unhook the rubber feed line from the rear and stuff a bolt in it to plug it while I am horsing with the pump. The line to the carb is going to empty it self regardless so get a drain pan under the pump to catch the fuel.
