Sorry, I am a little slow this morning. You were going to pinch off the line to disable the pump to diagnose the noise. Might work and it might not. The pump is still operating whether gas is flowing ot not but if it's pumping and working harder it may be more noisy. Go th the parts store and buy a stethoscope to diagnose the noise.
