I ain't a Ford man however...........

Here`s a question for all the older guys 70s +.
I`ve searched and can`t find any conclusive answer.
I`ve considered the teardrop scoops to be seen first on the thunderbolts as really an extractor. Talking to rodders 10 yrs my senior say they were real popular and was seen on everything back in the day.
I`ll still say they are/were a Ford scoop.
What say you?

I always liked the teardrop scoop, but the only "factory" cars I saw them on were Fords. A good friend's step father had one of those Super Stock fiberglass Ford Galaxys. It was not a looks only car, it was totally serious. It was their daily driver, 4 speed and all. I loved watching his 110 lb mother drive it, and I mean she could really drive it. My brother had a 65 Mustang coupe that we converted the 289 into a "K" motor. We swapped a 9 in rear with 3.90 gears, so the biggest problem we had was with getting a C-4 trans to live behind it. No problem with old Fords here...
