Today was the last day of one of my Opioid scripts. No more 5mg Immediate Release. Was taking 20mg@day. Started the reduction 28 days ago. Seriously wondering if I am going to be able to go the rest of the way, I don't feel good at all. I hurt...everywhere. Some of it has my doc worried that I have my failing parts...in particular my knees.
In addition to not feeling good...I am starting to feel that "other" side of me...the one that I grew to embrace years ago...the withdrawn side. My wife asked me to go, couple of weeks back, to a Long Arm (high $$ quilting machine) demo day. Only reason I went was because I told her I would...really did not want to leave the house. Drove by the weekly local car meet at Zips on the way home...Ernie asked about stopping...I just grunted at her and kept right on driving. Have 4 different races I wanted to go shoot over the next 4 weekends....really questioning if I am going to make it....

Brother... Been there...spent a lot of years pounding the **** out of myself...and loving every minute of it. There are some things that you might try..and although they seem woo-woo it's worked for me.

Number one is to Reduce inflammation - I quit all gluten (bread) and dairy. Freaking notable difference.
Second was to get into a very low impact exercise and flexibility routine. Sounds bad but keeping the grease in the joints moving it has made a big difference for me. Yes, I must admit I went "Pilates"... History behind Pilates is that it was designed for returning WW-I wounded to rehab.

Amazing what the body can handle. I've been to the edge and a bit beyond.

Go well and best wishes.

With 6 bad discs, I can't do 'impact' exercise. I do take a shallow water (4-5') exercise class at the local YMCA. It really works for me in gaining & maintaining flexibility and cardio.
