I am about to have a new windshield installed in my 1974 Duster. I would like to delete the chrome surround trim. Any thoughts, experiences or comments?

There will be a gap that the trim covers. Have you considered painting the trim black?

l thought l would have the glass guy fill the gap with the butyl rubber that they use to set modern windshields.
going to look like crap. imo
It will definitely look like crap I've been doing glass for 37 years 27 of those owning my own shop. The gap is too big around the ws to look good.I would paint the moldins black or body color. Just my opinion. Have a great weekend.

Mine Dart isn't much of a show car, but maybe this will help you get a better perspective of the option to paint the trim.
