Flex fan

-
I use flex fans on all my mopars 18inch. They run cool all the time and pull a **** ton of air in it. I spin my barracuda 6k no issues.

i remember that...and that was terrible.Glad he wasn't hurt worse.I have a comment but i'll
i'll keep it too myself.
All I can say is he'd be dead if it hit him across the neck.

I lost one "Flex Fan" in 88 on the way to the pro-street race in Dallas Ga. and it ripped the radiator apart. Cost me a tow home I really could not afford + a new 3 core 24" radiator and more!

It never cooled well, even with the 18" pusher electric!

My suggestions have been posted over and over again on this forum and it really is simple!

My 22" 3 core from Glenray with all the factory Stock pieces is Absolutely 100% The Best hands Down! I have never been happier and Cooler!

My bad as forgot to mention the High Flow 185 Thermostat which technically is not stock!.

what is the shortest one you found, 2947? how tall is it? thanks, Dave

notice how close the mounting bolts are between the water pump and fan

I have used new Mopar clutch fans on three different occasions but found mine were barely adequate.
Problem is they only turn about 80% shaft speed at idle in heat when you need them most. They
also have clearance problems as you have found out, are very heavy and that weight is out on the
end of the water pump shaft...not good. Lastly they fail and it is very hard to tell.
For best cooling get a new 10,000 rpm flex fan or better still 7 blade mechanical.Make sure it has
as much pitch as you can use.

I have read that the standard fan clutch turns at 75% of pump speed. An RV clutch turns at 90% if that helps you

Flex Fans do eat a lot of hp. I will try a Mopar 4 blade nect racing season
