Lost my temper today.

Well The pond had another deposit added to it. Years ago my wife bugged me to buy her a weed eater. Now I knew this wasn't going to get used much by her but I went ahead and bought her a nice Stihl weed eater. Just like I figured, she never used it. I bet it had maybe 5 hours on it. But Thursday she tells me she is going to help me weed eat as I really can't do it all by myself anymore since the heart attack. So I take it out of the shed, it was looking still brand new. Gased it up and tried to start it. it would run for a split second and die. After this went on for just a few minutes until I dumped the gas out, washed the tank out, walked to the pond, and launched that SOB! Problem solved.
Got a love hate relationship with them bastards
too

Dont know what it is with those gas powered weed eaters. I can make everything else run

Same exact story here, except that I don't have a pond.

I don't have that anger issue with objects like cars or projects around the house gone wrong, frustrating of course, usually I walk away and come back latter.
What gets me going is people, rude inconsiderate nasty people. What really gets me going is people who hurt other people.
My sons ex wife just died. She got involved while she was married to my son with another man. He was a guy with a lot of money and he was a coke head..... She and my kid got divorced and she married this POS
They had a little girl together, adorable child....They got divorced at some point. She was doing drugs and booze while married to my son and obvious never stoped....
Her little girl came home last week to find her mother dead on the floor with blood everywhere
It was a alcohol related death according to the autopsy. She had been in rehab and was screwing her sponsor who was also drinking with her.....Yes she had a flawed personality but two loser scumbags just helped her to become addicted..... How does a man live with themselves like those two guys she got involved with? Thats a thing that makes me angry.

Ten years ago I came very close to going at it with a guy in a supermarket....When everything is in place, your anger your depression your frustration you can very easily lash out.....It was late one winter night, I just got home after being at the hospital while my wife got chemo. I got her out of the car, had to almost carry her up the stairs, got her in bed. I had to go to the supermarket. She was weak and I never saw her so sick so beat up.. The day had went bad, when we left the out patient I had to help her walk to the parking garage, it was right next door and she just about made it....I sat her on a bench and she was shivering, I gave her my coat.....I waited and waited for my car and the guy never brought it, after a few people behind me got their cars and left I asked whats up with my car...All the while she is bent over sick cold and this guy keeps telling me next car......Finally I had enough, I told him "the next ******* car out of that elevator better be mine or you'll be calling the police, the guy started to say something and I told him you see how sick she is, you inconsiderate POS,,,shut up and get my car, which he did.
So that set the tone, now im in the supermarket and there is this younger couple shoping....The girl was pretty they were in late twenties maybe earlier thirties....She walks into me by accident and her boyfriend starts to berate her to me for not looking were she was going..... Inside I started to boil, the rage and yes I was jealous.....My wife was into her cancer well over a year, she had major surgery, she was cut from her ****** up mid way her chest. She was bloated with this huge scar, her hair was falling out. She would come home with a canister of chemo strapped to her side and two days later id flush her port and remove the needle and comfort her while she cried and this ungrateful **** with the healthy beautiful woman was talking to her like she was ****. I walked closer to him and I just looked at him, God help him if he opened his mouth....He looked at me and became nervous and they both walked away.....I got into my car and went home to take care of my wife, driving home my eyes were tearing over
I have no patience for people, im very friendly and like to engage people in conversation but the assholes really change me and being not a social media type of guy, I cant handle people who act like jerks, shoot their mouths while behind a key board....the reason im banned on the FBBO
So yes we all get angry, some of us in different ways ....try and control it because its stress and not good

Ah yes....The weed eater! My Husqvarna wouldn't start one day so I removed the plastic shroud to get a better look at it. I dicked around with the primer ball, fuel lines, spark plug etc you know the drill. Anyway, I was getting more and more angry as I was violently pulling on this chunk of ****, when my one hand slipped that was holding the base, and I got the tip of my thumb sheared off by the exposed flywheel fins.........But at least it started:(

So, I guess none of you have "come to" on top of someone with your hands around their throat after a Berserkers rage? Anyway, I gave my daughter a 1 inch box end wrench and told her to throw it as hard as she could on concrete, away from everything. Calmed her down considerably. That used to be my go to remedy for stress, now I just walk away, if I can, and do something I like.

I use to have a serious issue with my temper but over the years i have learned to control it. When i feel that spike in the back of my head i do breathing exercises or remove my self from the situation.

Today i wad installing a new screen door at the house and it just was not working. I can build an entire house, hang double hung windows, french doors, sliders what ever.

This dang screen door that cost 14 bucks just would not work. I should have know as the red was creeping in and my level of frustration was going up fast.

Before i realized it, the screen door was ripped out of the wall,on the floor in a ball and my women was looking at me like she dont know what to do....

In our 4 years she has never seen me even raise my voice.

Well now I feel super stupid and have to buy a new screen door...

Not sure what the point of this is, maybe just a heads up that folks are under a lot right now so lets all just try and relax.
I have had similar issues, i was once looking for refills of my checkbook(checks) they were in a file cabinet... I looked twice three times through the whole cabinet, even started saying to the wife 'what the hell did ya do with my checks..." she was like "wha?.." I agressively emtied the file cabinet(threw everything across the room) and flipped the damned thing in its side and there they were laying underneath it. It was a spectacle and the room was tore apart but i found the checks LOL! apparently they fell out of the drawer and ebnded up on the arpet underneath as the bottom of the cabinet was open. yeah the wife thought I was going to blow a fuse that time...LOL!

A few years back I bought a used snowblower from a seller online. It was a fairly new machine, his reason for selling it was that he had bought a small tractor and no longer needed it. I picked it up and brought it home, was early fall, still a few weeks before the first snowfall. I gave it a good once over, changed the oil and sparkplug and it ran good. Fast forward about 5 weeks and the first good dump of the white crap hits, the damned thing won't start. I yanked on the rope until I thought I'd pulled my shoulder out, no way it would start. I checked for spark, and I had filled it with fresh gas before I tried starting it, but no way it would start. I dragged it into my garage and plugged in the electric starter, still no start. Cranked it until the starter cut out. By now I have been at it for over an hour, in 10 degree weather, and my wife has started to shovel the snow. I grabbed a can of carb cleaner and sprayed it into the carb throat, finally the stupid thing sputtered to life. After spending another hour and a half cleaning the snow with the machine, I shut it down. It would restart with no problems every time I tried it that night. The next time I used it, same thing happened. I finally took it apart and found that the primer hose had been chewed up by mice, likely before I bought it as the first owner lived in a rural area.

My dad was very even tempered, never got a rise outta him but he was mechanically inept. So one day he decided to fix the leak under the kitchen sink, I still have this vision of him setting on the floor with his butt hanging out beating the hell out of the chrome pipes with a wood hammer and cussing up a storm.
In the end mom called a plummer to put her sink back together...

I used to have a horrible temper problem, not over nothing but when it flared I would lose control. So many men are sitting in prison because of 10 seconds of anger. Emotion is one of the hardest things to conquer but as a man it should be a priority. Maturity plays a part but for me I took a year-long class personal inventory it was very enlightening to me because it revealed the cause of my anger and once you know that you can cut it off before you enter the red zone. I'm talking the kind of anger that becomes blind rage I inherited it. Very seldom is the cause of the rage the actual problem at hand it's usually much more.

I don't get mad very often.
When I realize that I'm starting to get mad and lose my patience, I usually walk away before I get to the point of throwing things or hitting someone who desperately needs it.
When this happens at work, I calm myself by imagining my supervisor (who is a dumbass) falling down the stairs.
That usually brings a smile to my face.
If that doesn't work, when I get home I will get on the computer and listen to punk rock until I feel better.
Maybe toss a few beers on it to help it along.

When I was young, my dad used to get pissed off a lot working on heavy duty equipment (He had his own business) and when he would raise his voice and swear, I would laugh which made him even madder!
And the madder he got, the more I would laugh.
There were lots of times he would chase me and I'm sure he would have beaten me within an inch of my life if he would have caught me, which he never did.
Do you know how hard it is to laugh and run?

Sometimes I think of when I was young working with my dad, and it gets me laughing about the reasons at the time why I was mad and that the swearing I was doing would be funny to someone else.

See? I feel better already.......

You listen to punk rock to calm you down? That in itself would make me wanna rape and kill!

Cope!!! That screen door was obviously JUNK flawed, bad construction... you nor anyone could have even installed that sucker!!!! Best thing that ever happened was going after another door!!
You are the man!!

I have stopped what I was doing to shut off the radio when one of those songs gets played. I literally want to smash the radio.
I've seen guys go to fisticuff over the damned radio in a working shop environment but there was underlying issues too.
