Be careful

Damn shame that stupid people are allowed to drive and multiply. Hopefully your dad will be able to fully recover and sue the cow's ***. Beautiful looking 'runner, sure hope that it can be repaired.

I had a reason for asking that question above. I was traveling down a country road and saw a red light off the road. I was traveling in my lane and at the last second I saw a guy standing there. I swerved and missed him turned around and stopped . I inform them that the guy standing at the rear of the car was blocking the view of the tail light that was in my lane.

Maybe that dumb *** lady couldn't see the car because that dumb *** passenger was blocking the lit tail light. The hazard lights could have looked like a blinker. ????????. A flare or red safety reflectors might have saved that Road Runner. But driving from a car show who would keep such an item in the car .

Damn man, I'm really glad your dad wasn't injured more than he was. I know you both are sick about the car.

The roads got tremendously more dangerous when the high schools stopped teaching driver's education. People are just clueless about how to drive. Or...they are ignorant about life in general, like the 15 year old in Washington state who took a relative's car for a joy ride and wanted to "mess" with a jogger by just "bumping" him from behind going 50 mph. Killed him

She should be going to jail for murder, but will be tried as a juvenile and be free at 21.
They still teach drivers ed in high school, my son took the class.
But I dont know how good a job the instructor done, because the first time I was out driving with him, he did not understand the green arrow on the traffic signal, he just thought green meant he was ok to proceed.

Damn, hate to see that, hope your dad is okay.
I still remember my Drivers Ed. instructor saying " you steer towards what your looking at, keep your eyes on the road "
They still teach that in trqffic school....you follow your eyes especially if your drunk. "ooh, pretty red lights off the side of the road!"

Hope your dad gets well. thanks for the warning, i fear that we all are surrounded by stupid and distracted drivers.

i'd tell your dad to go see my great uncle Denny over in Grampian but we just lost him to cancer Im affraid. He loved fixing old mopars....

Sorry to hear, that really sucks. As for the guy waving the light, I'm sure it was the wrong thing to do.

When we were young, my friend was driving at night and there was a guy jumping up and down waving a flash light. My buddy is like what is that guy doing and everyone was watching the guy and all of a sudden thump thump we ran over the guys dog laying in the street, he was already hit once and we finished the job. The guy should have had the light on his dog because it was very dark no street lights in the area. We would have seen the dog if he was shining the light on him.

AMD makes everything the car needs but they don't make new dad's. I'm glad he's mostly alright

Sorry to hear your dad got hurt, but the broken leg will heal...

Also sorry to see such a nice car wrecked...

It annoys me that people are so stupid that they can't put down their phones when they are driving...

That really sucks....sorry to hear about your Dad and the car. :(

Darn, that stinks!! Godspeed to your Dad on his recovery.

We called that "Object Fixation" in Sky Diving class.
Best wishes to you and you Dad.

Happy he's OK. Sad for the car

I've been on a bullhorn yelling at a student....

"YOU HAVE A STEERABLE.CANOPY DO NOT HIT MY SHADE STRUCTURE"

Yeah, that didn't work.

I did teach my daughter while driving to not look at what you're avoiding but look at where you want to go.

Not much I can say that hasn't already been said. Damn, glad they're ok. Hope her insurance is good enough to cover the medical and repair bills.

That said, I strongly suggest everyone getting a dash cam that has both front and rear cameras. Wouldn't have helped in this instance but who knows what she'll try to claim once insurance gets involved and things get serious. I've seen people lie their butts off afterwards to try to escape liability for what they have done. A dash cam can really help save your butt both criminally and liability wise. It can also help capture important info to bust hit-and-runners. Another nice feature is that some of them can monitor your car even if it's parked and you are nowhere around. I know some think they're expensive but is your driving record, your insurance costs, and making sure the right person is held responsible for their actions important to you? I know I won't drive without one.

would it be recording in this situation?

not being a smart alec, but really, what are the parameters?
the car was probably not running, and who knows if the ignition was in accesory mode or not

Depends on the camera and how it is powered, mine plugs into a 12v socket so it can be live constantly.

Sorry that really hurts! I live in PA and the women are fat stupid ugly cigarette smoking scanks that can't stop texting while they tailgate you.
You in Pa Too? I commute between reading and Harrisburg and yes most but not all of the stupid stuff on the highway is women. That is at least a 30-40 thousand dollar car and they'll say "you have insurance don't ya...?" it would have been difficult for me to keep my temper if that was my car...

Yep< I was driving around much of yesterday. I watched multiple women run red lights and pull out in front of people. the have their hands free cell phone so their mouth is going a mile a minute and they cant drive and talk.
sucks about Dad and the Mopar. Thankfully it wasn't worse..
ALOT of folks caint chew gum an walk. They damn sure don't need a phone while they're driving. I see it all the time in Tampa. Just gets me pissed off driving to work. This basterd ran down a whole family of Mallards while I was blocking traffic for them..... people, it seems, these days, generally kinda suck...

It all depends on your setup. A lot of the better dash cams will automatically record if they detect either an impact and/or motion picked up by the camera. The dash cam I run has impact and motion sensing that is hard wired (always has power) so it monitors the car 24/7. I will say this, do your research when it comes to dash cams. Some of the supposed better names are not the best, IMO.

Oh, another little piece of advice. Once an accident has occurred, make sure your dash cam stays recording and also start recording with your smart phone immediately. You don't have to be recording directly with your phone but putting it in a shirt pocket where it, at minimum, can record audio is a good thing. People will a lot of times admit fault to you at the scene only later to deny everything and blame you when they deal with insurance or the courts.

that woulda pimmeoff. I brake for any animal in the road, birds squirrel etc. They are just trying to live too...

Do not take that car to a normal collision shop. That car needs to be put on a fixture made specifically for 68-70 b-bodies. There are holes in the frame where 4 stands fit when on the fixture. I have one made for 108 wheel base a bodies. There is a shop in northeast Pa. that has a b-body e-body and a-body fixtures. Your car must be put on one before cutting it apart. After it is pulled and when installing new panels.

I have a Demon That is rust free we are making a race car out of. It was hit in the quarter many years ago and repaired with a new quarter. We put it on a fixture to find the car was twisted 1 inch. Being it is going to be a race car we are holding it square on a table fixture and putting rear rails and a cage in it. The car was never hit in the front . It was hit in the side right on the wheel house. But it was the front that twisted from the collision and overlooked when repaired.

Most collision shops just get the panels to fit and send the car down the road. And don't let them talk you into gluing the panels on. These old muscle cars are rear wheel drive. Unlike the newer front drive cars the take a lot of body flex. Full panels and weld them as per the factory did.

B-bodies were noted for cracking behind the doors on the top from the factory from flex with track pack cars. Just think what a glued panel will do.

That looks to have been a very nice car and would hate to see some fly by night shop do their get it out the door and get paid job on it. I must have owned over 20 of those 70 plymouths RR's and GTX's. No body lines, Easy to be made to look straight but just as easy to screw up and hide the bad work.
