I installed those just to piss people off.
Maybe there's a switch inside that activates them for turning the starter you haven't found. That's how I'd wire it if I wanted to do that. It would keep curious morons from just mashing the buttons anytime the hood was up. Maybe look around in the interior under the dash and such. But tracing the wires is still your best bet.

there are 3 wires coming off the switches. that typically indicates a SPDT switch. so when the 1st wire is open to the 3rd wire the 2nd wire is connected and visa versa when the switch is pressed.
OK guys...
Chased it all down... multimeter in hand ...resulting in a dead end where the wires had been cut under the dash. There was one wire to the hot side of the starter so looks like the bump start folks were on the right path.
It's all gone now after unwrapping 100 yards of electrical tape...

Heck, I kinda liked um. I thought it was a good idea.
The red light looks like the emergency brake warning light on my Charger.
I'm wondering if it wasn't something to do with staging and having the door open? Seems the only time you would actually see it
Thought about it, but honestly I'm not smart enough or skilled enough to use them.
Showoff of such a clean engine compartment in such a fast car! Yes, I'm jealous!!

Tied to a bark collar somewhere? Interesting that they are bump buttons. Is that the original slanty?
Not the original.. but from the VIN and documentation I have the car has always had a /6 in it. This one is a 1981 that was built for racing back in 2001.

Probably a v8 in between the original slant and that slant.
Not impossible, but highly unlikely.
Surprisingly, the car came with a great deal of modern day documentation and receipts. I have the build documentation when the original rebuild (slant-6) was done in 2001 as well as the top-end work that was done in 2006. Earliest I can go is the bill of sale and import docs from when it came over from Canada as "salvage" in 1998. It has only had about 2,000 miles put on it in the last 20 years.
