Lost my temper today.

-
I have stopped what I was doing to shut off the radio when one of those songs gets played. I literally want to smash the radio.
I'm exactly the same way with modern Country music.
Or Rap.
It literally makes me mad........

I've seen guys go to fisticuff over the damned radio in a working shop environment but there was underlying issues too.
I worked in a Dealership service dept with 14 other techs...you couldn't get any of them to agree on a radio station or if the heat should be on or off etc. I saw two guys standing at the ventilation fan switch, one turned it off, the other turned it on, they went back and forth like that for a minute or two finally the one said "touch it again I'll break your arm..." it was better than watching soap operas or the Three stooges on TV...:)

I would imagine that there was another word or two between ''break your'' and ''arm''.

LOL..yup.. that's exactly how I pictured it when you said something LOL.
I'm not even going to say something about you losing your temper that crap happens... Welcome to being human...
I think your next one ought to be one of those screen doors you hang with little magnets down the center...

Just bringin this back to the top for those of you who liked Roy. There's a lot of funny posts by him here. RIP buddy.

Been there done that! I have alot of stories lol. I have learned to control mine too. I quit drinking in 2015 havent had a drop since. And since then I'm able to control my temper 100 percent better. I still have moments like you did dont sweat it it happens! At least it was a 14 dollar door and not something important lol I once threw a flatscreen tv threw a window. I had to replace the window and buy a new tv! :wtf::BangHead:
Almost two years later this post is hard to read! Less than 8 months after this i relapsed. But im straightened up now. We all have our demons and battles!

What worked for me a very long time ago was working out on the heavy bag, but what worked better was when once I was really in a lousy mood, mad, lost my temper, that night I happened to spar some guy and he hit me with everything but the kitchen sink, he threw me down I dont know how many times, kicked my *** and all I could think of was trying to help from getting a *** beating.....
Worked like a charm, I was in a better mood after that, a little black and blue but a better mood

I think our country would be A LOT better off if people still got their *** kicked.
I can think of a few here who could use a good tune up. (And boy, i can still turn a wrench.)

*** kickins teach respect. They tech boundaries and they teach how to suck it up.

Most of my closes friend have either knocked me down or been knocked down by me.

I was maybe 10 or 11 years old when my friends and I were riding our bicycles in front of a grocery store. I called a girl I didn't know 4 eyes (she was wearing glasses). She caught me, ripping my shirt and smacked me in the face.

I got taught a valuable lesson that day.

And no, it wasn't to get away quicker, lol.

So three lessons were learned that day.
1. Be polite.
2. Head down and PEDAL HARD.
3. Girls in glasses are not cool.

:)

My friend and I when I was 12 got our *** kicked by a queer on a unicycle. He was an older kid and turned out he wasn't a queer.
That's what happens when you judge someone and call them names.
But who what the hell rides a unicycle in the mid 1970's.

Honestly this is the first time I have read this thread through. It still imbarreses me a bit but thats ok.

We all can grow a bit by learning from others AND when we learn by others doing dumb stuff we all benefit.

There was a older guy who hung out with us once in awhile. He was gay and he was nobody to mess with and nobody did. His brother was another guy not to mess with and you fought one you fought both
I know many gay people, the ones I met are always nice to me as I have gay family member and im not a gay hater, in fact I support them
Some of them are angry, they aren't limp wrist feminine types either. Anger which can turn into rage comes with a lifetime of dealing with people hating you, judging you and treating you like a piece of ****.

Ive had only a few real fights, they were over in seconds and that was before I knew anything about fighting, so they were more like brawls
Sparing is way different but when I took a good shot to the head and I took a lot, I forgot what ever it was that pissed me off
Hey it worked for me LOL

This is the real deal.

This is very well said and something worth looking into in all of us.

I learned not to judge others that day.
The only rage I know kills people. So I don't like to talk about it or be any part of it.

I vowed to watch my anger after I knocked out the Cub Scout den mother's asshole son front teeth at age 13. They promptly threw me out of the Cubs or was I promoted to the Boy Scouts, don't remember. Anyway I wasn't mean and wasn't big enough to be a fighter with a bad temper.
The I got my first horse and quickly realized me and a 1200 lb critter needed respect.
