Insurance on classic cars

When I was insurance shopping Hagerty was the only insurance company that did not wince when I mentioned autocross and drag racing. I remember State Farm saying they would not insure the car if it took place in timed speed events. Hagerty will cover the car even when it is in the pits. The only time they do not cover the car while it is on the track actually in competition. Hagerty also covers the car when it is out for pleasure driving with no restrictions. IIRC Grundy had restrictions on pleasure driving and over night parking lot stays where the trip had to connected to a car show for the insurance to be in effect.
Hagerty had none of that.

American Collectors is specific about no timed events, limitations on mileage, etc.... If I register in state as an Antique, then all those limitations on when the vehicle is operated, etc are in effect anyhow. I went high on the mileage scale starting out as there wasn't a huge difference. I'll adjust or switch as I get smarter on the marketplace (so I appreciate all of the feedback in here).
