My Duster Adventures

I would leave the bottom alone, shortening one leg of the LCA more than a turn on the threads can / will bind the bushings in the LCA. I would use the UCA to adjust two degrees of caster out of the drivers side which will cause to tire to move forward slightly, and add 1 degree to the passenger side making the caster spec the same side to side.

then see what ya got.
Yeah I wondered if that wouldn’t be the case. I guess if I had heim joints/rod ends it would work. I’ll run it with the 4* caster for now. I’m not willing to have the car inoperable for a day or 7 again just yet!
Btw, did/are you coming down for MoParty?

no...sad week, just not in the mood. A good friend passed this week and I am crushed. Besides being my good friend for over 50 years, he took care of the any body and paint work on every hot rod I owned.

Might post more stuff later. But for now, here’s this! First time I’ve ever been down a track! I may have to do this more often!!

Great meeting you! Man that was such a fun event. I can't wait for next year. Here's a picture I snapped that seems to be getting lots of "Likes" on my IG. I think they like your car more than mine.

Yeah it was great meeting you and hanging out. I’m glad you got a picture of the two cars, I was planning to but I’m terrible about remembering to take pictures. I love your car! Every time I looked it over, I noticed something else that I’d missed before. Very well done! What’s your account name on IG?

A few pictures I found on the MoParty Facebook page. Looks like I might have to do something more to limit body roll next year. Maybe install stiffer springs? I already have the front sway bar installed.

Looks like this winter I’m gonna have to get the trailer fender tubs put in and get some wheels/tires in the back to fill up that wheel well better as well!

Took my car to a hydraulic shop to get the power steering leak fixed. Got it back Friday, took it through a local festival parade Saturday and got a few good pics of it.

I measured the ride height Friday to the frame rails and the passenger side was about 1/2” lower, so I raised it up which helped my passenger header not scrape nearly as often as it had. I drove it a decent amount Friday night and Saturday and let me say it again, this thing rides and drives GREAT!!! Now I’m looking forward to doing a few upgrades this winter to add some power!

No need for trailer tubs, just do a mini tub on it. A few how-to threads on here.

My outer wheel housings are separated from the quarters already where a p.o. hacked the fender lip off too short. I also already have the trailer fenders and want to eliminate the outer wheel housing so I can run 28”+ tires in the rear, with the car slammed down.

30 years from now somebody is going to see this picture, and say, I cannot believe how cheap gas was back then.

So true, but I remember trading my 76 W250 factory 440 extended cab truck off when gas hit 1.00 a gallon.
Traded it off because it got 4 mpg, for a standard cab, short box Dakota V6 5-speed.
The difference in fuel, made the truck payment.

Check out the difference in gas prices in the past year…. :BangHead:

Small update. Finally got 2.76 gears added to my 489 suregrip center section, got that swapped in, along with changing the leaky drivers side axle seal. Also started installing the line lock, got it bolted on the inner fender, just need to plumb and wire it tomorrow. Video to hopefully come this weekend.
