Well Well, Oh Well....

Here's what I have. I have the means. It will work. But I'm not sure Kitty and I together have the stamina enough to do "THIS" for 340 feet. This chain hoist is one SSSLLLOOOWWW old dude. The engine hoist hook is probably about 10 feet in the air here. MIGHT give us an actual 7-8 feet of pulling room. We'll be bout DEAD by the time we get 1/4 of the way up, I'm sure. I "GUESS" we're gotta try.

Buy a winch they are cheap. Don't kill yourself trying to pull it like that

How will I power it? It's over 100 feet from the nearest outlet. It will trip breakers comin and goin. Get a 12V? Yeah.

I'm not tryin to shoot down ideas, but this is a pretty big pickle for us. lol

Battery on your truck they hook right in i had one on my 4 wheeler
How long will it go without overheatin? Do they really work that well? I may look into it. I do have a Harbor Freight card. LMAO

I understand im just giving ideas I don't want anything bad to happen to you or kitty. Don't want you or her getting hurt trying to pull the thing.

The one I had on my 4 wheeler would pull a 4x4 polaris 500 out of damn near anything I got it stuck in lol

I would check before pulling it up must be a sizable pump to push a 350 ft head of water should be an overload on the supply breaker check the setting will give you an idea of what size motor is down there you could also check to see if it is drawing any current will help to tell if the well is dry or the motor is kaput

If I only knew how to do "ALL THAT". lol

Do you know if the pump is single phase or 3 phase also do you have access to an amp tong that measures AC .
Does the pump have a starter box with a red & green button or is it fully automatic & start when you turn the tap on.

It has a pressure switch similar to an air compressor. It's automatic. All this is single phase. I've checked for power AT the well and it has power to each leg. All that's left is 340 feet straight down, so either there's a break in the electrical wire, OR the pump is bad. Either way, it's gotta come out. It's about time I guess. We've been out here 20 years next year.

Well Fuq... What's the Answer? It would be Really cool if about Forty Mopars showed up at Your place this week to get this thing runnin' again. Hmmmmn

Call the well driller? Not gonna be cheap, but easier on your back. My well pump died on me about 5 years back. Mine was only 47 feet deep and PVC but the pump was stuck in the bottom. It did come loose but driller told me he has seen many of them rust off and fall to the bottom of the casing or get stuck in the casing. He had a big A frame on his truck.

Yup. I knew things had been going too good for us here for a little while. Kitty was waterin the tomato plants tonight and all of a sudden water pressure died. I checked the breaker. It's on. Went to the well and took the cap off and put the meter on it. it's gettin 122V AC on each leg. So the well pump is shot. 340 feet down, too. I have no way to get "ALL THAT" out. I caint even flush a turd. I don't know what we're gonna do. Figure somethin out "I guess". lol

sucks , I remember helping to pull a 160 ft well to change the footvalve , that wasnt even fun , good luck !

The wheel rim post gave me a dumb idea. Could you use an old wheel rim welded to a pipe on an A frame as a roller, and then loop the pipe over it and pull it out with your truck or tractor? Converts the vertical motion to horizontal. The A frame would have to be WELL anchored to keep from toppling over.

if you have a neighbor with a tractor with loader that you could attach one of the pulleys on chain to or maybe construct a sturdy A frame to attach pulley to over the well then run a rope or cable over the pulley then tie it to truck and pull it out that way. The higher you can get pulley the better so the the pipe will bend without kinking. I have had to do it before, good luck

Is there enough of a foot print there to safely set the cherry picker down?

Maybe you can use that as a frame and run a tackle block from it, then pull it out with a truck

You mentioned not having 110 for 100 ft...could you tap into the feed to the pump itself?

whatever you attach pulley block to needs to be sturdy so that it doesn't flip over when you start pulling and I would be afraid the cherry picker would turn over

Call the man! Mine was a shallow well set up. 2 pipes going down to injector at 63 feet. When the foot valve failed the pipe would drain as I pulled it up but it was a slow go and still heavy. I could do it back then but wouldn't be able today.
My neighbors well was like yours but only 210 feet deep. Lightening would kill that pump and the wire once every 2 years average. You've been lucky.

Neighbor across road had well drilled and was cased with PVC pipe. Lightning hit hit and destroyed it. The well pump company could not pull pump out with their special truck. Turned out when lightning got to water level it shattered the casing and had to drive another well beside it with new pump and all
