I thought I had read somewhere that 14x5.5 small bolt rally wheels may not work with kelsey hayes disks. I can't remember where I saw this, but it suggested you need 14x6 wheels.

Does anyone have experience with this they can share?

I have the Kelsey-Hayes and rallys on my 1970 Swinger 340. I can go out and measure the width of the wheels tomorrow, if that would help. Mine came with the body colored steelies from the factory, but the rallys bolted on with no issue. Paul.

I would appreciate that brother...

My steelies and rallys are both the 5.5"J wheels. Measure from the inside lip to the other inside lip. Photos tomorrow, if they'll help. Paul. PS, Love your dog.

THere were no factory Rally's with a 6" width. They were all 5.5 (the small bolt wheels)

They work. Factory wheels on 70-72 Darts and Dusters with K-H brakes.

Thanks for the confirmation fellas. I would hate to get all the way to that point and be thwarted.

I have run them for years. Also, the factory OEM 14 x 5.5 steelies work with K-H discs (because most Formula S Barracudas came this way). The wheels that DON'T fit with the K-H discs are many of the period aftermarket SBP wheels, such as slot mags or TorqueThrusts. I had some vintage TTs, and the center register hole was only bored out 1" deep, so the longer K-H hub bottomed out before the wheel mounting surface reached the hub face. The guy I bought them from had been using 1/4" spacers, but I decided I didn't like that much offset. I thought about having the centers machined out, but I wasn't convinced there was enough meat in the casting, so I sold them to a guy who was sticking with drum brakes. With the slot mags the problem isn't the center register, since they usually have an open hole with a cap — it's that on some brands the rim is too thick and interferes with the caliper.

True that. If the OP would still like pictures, I'll be glad to slap my poverty caps on my stock wheels and post pictures. The wheels in my avatar are what came on my car, as verified by the build sheet. Paul.

I don't think that'll be necessary brother, I do truly appreciate your willingness to do that for me though. Reason #1,329 why I love this site....
