I went down and bought the correct belt for my car application double checked belt, to short. I think I have the wrong power steering pump or the wrong pulley on my pump? It’s a 1969 340 in a 69 dart GTS. Here are some pictures. Please advise.
I also bought the Mancini bracket kit and it fit the pump in the block perfectly. But there’s no adjustment?

Loosen the two bolts circled in red. Insert a ratchet (or breaker bar) into the square hole circled in green and pivot the assembly up or down to tighten or loosen the belt. Retighten bolts.

There isn't a correct pump. Chrysler would use TRW, Federal, and Saginaw pumps on Dodge, Plymouth, or Cryrsler. Your pics show saginaw pump (ovalneck). You need the correct length belt for that pump.
I don't have a clue WTF you are working on so I can only tell you what I know... Aftermarket will sell you a lower radiator hose that is too short. Shoove it all the way up to stop on the water pump and PS hose will cut a hole in it.

I know it is a saginaw, its a 340 and it was in pieces before I built the car. I have a formula to calculate the length then I found a Gates site for belt lengths, just a PIA.

I have same pump and pully on my 67 model 273. I could quote the belt number from the card in my console later today if it helps

Red fish, that would be awesome! Hopefully out crank pulleys are the same size? I'll measure my crank pulley diameter and that number would be great! Thanks
I love this site and these members!

Double pulley
Crank shaft
7.25” diameter

Sorry I didn't get back here yesterday. Duralast # 17415. 17420 (1/2" longer) might have tightened and gave a tad more clearance at lower hose but bracket slot doesn't allow a lot of movemment.

Awesome
Thanks
I have 17420 way too short
Well I guess it’s back to trial and error! LOL

No worries
That’s what I’m figuring
I just got 3 new belts
43”
43.5”
44”
I’ll see if one fits? LOL

Took a tape measure out with me. Crank pulley diameter on the 273 is 6&3/4. So... we have a 1/2 inch difference at that pulley. Some online calculator would get you close.
I know those other brands of pumps have different brackets. I dont know about their pulley diameters or position differences. I can tell you the saginaw pump is the easiest to renew (seals and shaft bushing). I wouldn't trade my saginaw for any other, regardless of their GPM and pressure/assist differences. My aftermarket steering wheel is under 14" diameter yet manuvering/parking is effortless.
The Saginaw is more relative to GM than mopar of the same era. Plymouth used it more than Dodge or Chrysler back then. The Youtube vidoes about renewing are likely for/from GM owners. The only thing that they don't mention in those videos is how easily the return tube can be cracked away from the reservoir (I did that many years before youtube, learned the hard way in 1981 or 2).
So... finger out what belt length works, keep the card off the belt in the car and happy moparing.
